    Christmas color wheel collection

Then the Holly Times: The one on the far right is the one I grew up with. My parents bought it along with our 7 foot PECO pom pom aluminum tree (which I still have)from JC Penneys in December of 1964--I was in the first grade!

    Christmas color wheel collection

Through my years of visiting AWO, I've enjoyed everyone's collections of washers, dryers, dishwashers, mixers, and so forth. Thought I'd share some pictures of my unusual collection--color wheel made for aluminum Christmas trees. These have fascinated me all my life. When these trees were the...

Hotpoint - Lady Executive Washing Machine

Me too! This (or a similar model) would be my dream machine! It's been a looong time since I've seen anything like that around here

    I did it again!

I recently bought my first Filter Queen--a Princess III. I love it. The only thing wrong is that it doesn't say Filter Queen anywhere!! There's a model 33 in a thrift store nearby that I'm considering. Hope it's still there. I really like the cord rewind and the Filter Queen logo on that model.

    Admiral (Norge-Tag) question

A friend called me over today to see why her 4 or 5 yr old noreg-tag won't agitate. Upon checking it out, it sounds like it's washing rocks! It will agitate, though not too smoothly, for a little bit, then comes to a grinding halt. The rock crushing sound seems to come from the transmission...

I'm a little slow in replying, but man I'm loving this thread. My favorite (besides the Frigidaire clamshells) would have to be the Hotpoint sillouhettes.

    oldest central air conditioner

Thanks for the tips. We've lived in the house since '83. The unit did a superb job of keeping us comfortable until we added a family room and master suite a few years ago. We knew then that the ac would not be adequate but just kept thinking it would die and we would get the appropriate size...

    oldest central air conditioner

My 1950's rancher is cooled by a 1977 Sears central AC unit. The thing still runs great but as others have said, it's undersized for the house. All rooms are comfortable during the night when the unit cycles on-off as it should. From 10 Am until 2 or 3 AM it never stops and it can't keep up...

That's what (my) dreams are made of! Congrats. Nothing like that to be found around here.

    Maytag LAT 8504 question

I like this washer but I can't get it to stop leaking. I replaced the stem, boot seal according to your directions posted here, worked great for several loads, started leaking again. Replaced stem and seal again(using new parts), being very meticulous to follow your directions. Washer leaks...

    I want a Duo-Load Dammit!

That is my dream washer, too. My sister had a middle of the line Hotpoint in the late 60's. She used it until about '76 or '77. I'm not sure what went wrong with it.
