This fridge is probably from the 1970’s. Automatic means automatic thawing. I assume there’s a small freezer compartment in it.

This is nothing new. I have asthma, I can’t even be in the kitchen when a gas stove is on. The combustion gives me a very heavy asthma attack, even when a vent hood is used.
