I like my modification better as you will get hot/warm/cold wash and warm or cold rinse. His modification gives you hot wash/hot rinse, warm wash/warm rinse or cold/cold. You could of course adjust the water temp control after the wash agitation begins but my modification is more automatic.

Yes Mallory parts are all interchangeable, I've done this on this several timers. I cannot tell from your picture (reply 27) what is broken, it looks good to me.

The spin speed on these CoAxial transmission Hotpoints are 600-610rpm. The biggest issue with these machines is the brake spring above the transmission getting weak and letting the tub index too much during agitation which tends to throw some of the water out and reduces the water level...

The 1955 models had black buttons and activator cap with a light gray filter-mount and filter-flo flume. In 1956 they went to a black cap but turquoise greenish buttons and flume/mount.
