    LED Kitchen Lighting

And now for the LED recessed lights If you look closely beside the refrigerator you will notice a can light. That has a very warm LED bulb in it. Standard base. Most of the LED bulbs from here on out in the pictures will be replacements for standard and candelabra base - this is really the...

    LED Kitchen Lighting

Now to compare against incandescent This is the view coming up from the basement. You can see the color of the LEDs (in cabinet and under cabinet) against the color of the incandescent ceiling fixtures.

And the other side (sorry about the leaves on the floor) The kitchen opens out to a side porch, which with all the rain lately is covered in cold wet leaves. I tracked them in and now they are in several photos.

    LED Kitchen Lighting

I have LED lighting in many rooms of the house So I took several photos last night. My hope was that taking them at night you might be able to see the difference between different bulb types (these pictures have multiple temperatures of LED bulbs as well as incandescent and CFL). So, First up...

vintage Kitchen Aid DW for sale

The start button I am assuming the KDC has the same sort of two-part starting system as the others. Turning the handle will throw a lever which in turn releases the timer knob "stop" positioner at off and advances it about 2-3 degrees. Basically, if you advance the timer manually, you can...

vintage Kitchen Aid DW for sale

Martin - you should so hook it up If I were you I would go ahead and play with it. I normally put 15 AMP cords on all my dishwashers so I can plug them in anywhere. The dishwasher supply hose kits at home depot and lowe's have adapters so you can use one of the laundry supply spigots in your...

vintage Kitchen Aid DW for sale

I let stuff dry in my KD-2P Well, I let it dry by accident. Dumb-ass me forgot to get the right faucet adapter before I filled the unit with Thanksgiving dishes. So, stuff sat for a day and a half. The upper rack was filled with cups that had pumpkin soup dried in them. I don't know what...

That is a KD-14, and thanks to Martin, it is mine THANK YOU AGAIN MARTIN! The KD-14 was the last model to have the cast-iron spray arm. There were 3 models, the custom (which is what is pictured above), the imperial (which I have in shaded coffee brown), and the very first Superba Vari-Cycle...

    GE Dishwasher

I just need the control panel faceplate off that I have a 1200 down in my basement that came with the house. The control panel is very scratched, and the vertical pieces in the vent are all broken out. But, it works fine. Where is this located?

(Need Advice) Looking for a Dishwasher in Portland, OR

Duh I guess I could have taken the time to actually look at the craigslist posts. The whirlpool is not a power clean. Definitely go with the Hotpoint if your choice is only these two machines.

(Need Advice) Looking for a Dishwasher in Portland, OR

If the whirlpool isn't a power-clean Then go with the Hotpoint. Both of these have some limitations about the upper rack (especially glasses in the corners) because of the use of a power tower as opposed to a second wash-arm. But the hotpoint's pump will probably throw more water. Also...

    Ideas For "Ins"

Excellent! Definitely count me in. After 2014 rolls in you and I can start planning what weekend will work best. In my house I have done both types of insulation, which I have installed myself. Foam insulation is more expensive, and a complete pain in the ass to "shave down the excess", but...

How do I adjust the water level in my front loader

I have a front load, WCI built Frigidaire washing machine that is about 15-20 years old. I have taken the top off and located the pressure switch for the fill. There are two plastic screws in it. One is in the dead center, the other is over towards the edge. Which one controls the water...

    Ideas For "Ins"

BTW - a note about insulation There was a statement earlier in the thread about applying insulation from the exterior of the house. While some insulation is better than none, be aware of two things (should you go that route) 1) If you go with blown in cellulose insulation, it compacts over...
