    Whiney Duet front loader

It’s a wonderful upgrade from the new belt drive whirlpool I’d used before. More cycle options. Quieter, easier on clothes, yet a better clean. The clothes take half the time to dry and the lint trap is so much cleaner! I’ll never go back to a top loader for my everyday laundry.

    Whiney Duet front loader

I’ve had a Whirlpool Duet HT for quite some time now. It always has whined during the spin. Doesn’t grumble like bad bearings. Are they all like this? Maybe the motor bearing needs some grease?

Which LG Models use a DC pump?

I’m thinking about replacing my top loading set for a pair of LGs. I want something more gentle and am sick of all the noise. Which models use the new DC pump? I don’t need all the bells and whistles like steam, turbo wash, etc. just something simple and quiet.

    GE “Fresh Vent” Front Loaders

Anyone tried them? New to the market, but they seem a bit pricier than more common models from LG or Whirlpool. Are they truely a new design or just a refresh of what was?

    KitchenAid Mixer speed selector

The roll pin holding the planetary in is completely stuck. Won’t budge from either side.

    KitchenAid Mixer speed selector

Got a trusty KitchenAid stand mixer that’s been with me since about 2000. Lately the speed selector will spring right out of the off position to the stir speed. I took the top off but couldn’t see anything weird... looks like the mechanism itself has a little wobble to it. Is there any quick fix...

    High appliance prices?

Seems like they’ve just gone up over the last couple of months.. quarantine? I don’t remember them being higher last year.

    High appliance prices?

Seems like just a few years ago or even a few months ago, appliance prices were way lower. Looks like everything is on “sale” now where it used to retail. What gives??

    Duet F20 and slow leak

Machine was indeed reset. I was able to get it to complete a cycle after multiple tries. Now it refuses to. Culprit seems to be the flow meter. Pressure switch is confirmed working. Not sure why Whirlpool put so many possible faults under the F-20 code alone. It really makes diagnoses a pain.

    Duet F20 and slow leak

Just replaced the valve. Leak seems to be fixed, but the machine entered the rinse cycle and threw an F20 code. Just put it on a rinse only and it gives the code again. Never seems to do this on the wash cycle... odd. Guess next is the pressure switch?

    Duet F20 and slow leak

My Duet has occasionally thrown an F20 code for some time now. Today I came home to find water in the tub and a slow trickle from the fill spout. I’m reading it could be either the fill valve or the pressure switch. How can I diagnose which without throwing parts at it?

    Kitchenaid K5SS Manufacture Date

Thank you for this! Looks like it is just shy of 30 years old.

    Kitchenaid K5SS Manufacture Date

Hello all, I have recently acquired a Kitchenaid K5SS mixer. It does not say Hobart anywhere on it so I know it’s fairly recent, but how can I decipher the manufacture year from the serial number? Thanks.

    Electrolux EFLS617STT review

How well does this machine move wash water through the clothes? Every wash cycle I've seen online makes this hard to see.

    Lagging with the times...

Those of you who have read my posts before may remember that I've owned the new style Kenmore belt-driven washer for several years. It's a great little machine especially for what I paid for it and despite what everyone says I've had no mechanical failures to date. However, I think its kind of...

    Recommendaions for Front Load Washer

I've always found LG to be a nice compromise between price and performance. However if you want something that will last Whirlpool is probably the simplest.

Safe to use a dryer that sat outside for 3-4+ months?

The good cleaning and inspection is really your check if it is safe... If anything is wrong, fix it. Look for chewed wires or mouse nests.

    CR Tests The SQ TR7

At least this is one review that Alliance can't scrub.

GE top loaders, why so much hate?

Direct drive is better... ... No, I don't think so. Direct drives have the same short stroke, so I don't know how that can be argued as a con of the GE machines. I've always had good cleaning in the years I've used GE and never had anything torn. Direct drives regularly tear my clothes because...

    Amana HE Topload washer

If I remember correctly, the GE Hydrowave also uses the motor as a spin brake. Are these also three phase?
