Can someone in the UK identify this washer?

The dials Again, all settings work but I haven't tried the temperature because the machine is on a Y connector. But when I filled it with warm water and ran it, it did actually seem to heat the water! NorfolkSouthern

Can someone in the UK identify this washer?

My intention is to restore it, but I will need some help. I hope you folks don't mind the redundancy in photos. Here are the push buttons, all of them work including the red indicator light. NorfolkSouthern

Can someone in the UK identify this washer?

I put up a thread on the vintage forum, but didn't get a response. So, I'm thinking it could be something newer. I got it from a scrapper, plugged it in, and it works! Could this possibly be a Hoover or Hotpoint? It was made in Italy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! NorfolkSouthern

Indesit? Hotpoint? Candy? I got it, but what is it?

The boot gasket Still looks like it's in good shape. Can someone give me an idea of what I would need to do to get it properly back in place? Everything works, the timer, motor, pumps, buttons. I think if I can get that boot properly in place and the top cover cleaned up, then I got me a front...

Indesit? Hotpoint? Candy? I got it, but what is it?

Of course it does... I ran a short cycle, and it ran fine up until the first rinse. But then water started going on the floor! Well, I spun the thing out and shut 'er down, got the rags out and here's what I got: NorfolkSouthern

Indesit? Hotpoint? Candy? I got it, but what is it?

OK, so my buddy the scrapper was out doing his thing, and among the stuff he picked up was this washing machine, a couple old rusted fans, and a dishwasher. More on the dishwasher later. Well, he obviously gets more from me than the metal recycler would give him, so I always get first dibs. So...

    Urgent!

tbolt25: Did you get the directions to supremewhirlpool in Hamilton, Ohio? He responded on this thread tht he has a Hotpoint with a good tub waiting for you. From the best of my recollection, the tubs on both GEs and Hotpoints are interchangeable. Plus, the Hotpoint should also yield a good...

    I Finally did it!!!

Appnut: I can't agree with you more concerning the Cabrio, and other HE top loaders. My main concern with them would be rollover, given the small amount of water used. At least there would be a better chance of adequate coverage with a front loader. What I especially don't' like about the...

    I Finally did it!!!

"Well Mr. Norfolk, FYI these are NOT Chineese made the last time I checked into Whirlpool. These are made in Germany at the Baukenacht (pardon the spelling Euro friends)." That's good to know. On a more serious note, I did venture off to Lowes to look at one of their Maytag Epics. They are...

    I Finally did it!!!

When a $2,800.00 set loses 90% of its value six months after installation, then perhaps the price should be half of the original markup. I cannot for the life of me, justify $3,000.00 for a set of Chinese-made goods. Especially when I am able to get a modern machine off the curb for next to...

    WCI-62 & DCI-62 Available for Sale

TrainGuy: You have received several emails about your Unimatics, and at minimum, two of them from turquoisedude. At least one of them was for the WC-56 set. I also sent you 3 emails at least, regarding a machine you have for sale but did not get a response yet. I hope you still have it, as I am...

    WCI-62 & DCI-62 Available for Sale

I think a ballpark figure would be around $4,800.00 for the set, Whirlcool. At least, that would be their estimated fair market value from studying some EBay auctions in the past. But I could be wrong, and someone may get a good deal on this set. Since prized items like this are almost...

    Maytag honors a couple's 1967 Maytag set...

This could be used to re-engineer the oil and water bellows for Frigidaires, as well as seals, bearings, and a host of other NLA parts. It could be a good investment! NorfolkSouthern

GM seeks to cancel contract with WCI

Wishful thinking indeed, Steve. All we have left of the economy now are Wal-Mart, real estate ponzi schemes, and health care. And one of these days, our lack of engineering and manufacturing is going to come right back and bite us on the hind end. NorfolkSouthern
