What they have done for us

I had a thought the other night, I thought about all the engineers, designers, repairmen, advertisers, and anyone who had their hand in the appliance business. I wonder what they would all think if they saw what we do? What we appreciate.   All the engineers who designed the BD WP, FF...

Changing a Maytag tub bearing and seal: A how to...

Ben, I agree whole heartedly. Ive been lurking since 2006, and had two user names. This was such an amazing time for how toos and helping everyone. Lots and lots of, as you said, buzz. Amazing buzz. The golden age of this forum.

    Laundry/Show Room Ideas

Nice set ups Paul and Todd! I wish I had bigger open space like you guys. I think Ill move all the tools in to the smaller room, and use the bigger room for the show room.

    Laundry/Show Room Ideas

Ive lived in my house for a year now and after finishing lots of work, its time to think about building a laundry room. I have four rooms I can work with. Keep in mind my breaker panel is FULL and Im not keen on adding more for dryers.   The garage: No access to plumbing other than cold water...

    Troubleshooting a Maytag A606

So it will spin and agitate with no clothes, but with clothes it does nothing? Does the motor spin or does it just sit there and hum?   With the machine on its back or side, you should be able to make it agitate and spin by hand with minimal effort by spinning the transmission pulley. A little...

    Alternative source for belts

Hey Jim, the 3L and 4L390s are identical to the Maytag belts. I brought a new set of Maytag belts to work and compared them, same texture profile and material.    For your enhanced Kenmore Martin, what belt did you use? Im going to search tonight for the thread when I am at work to read for...

    Alternative source for belts

I was at work the other day, handling some of our belts and I thought "Gee, that looks an awful lot like a Maytag drive belt." and it got me thinking. SO, Ive brought various machine belts to work and compared their size to what we have in inventory, and then measured the width and length of...

    Neptune Ultra Care

Does anyone know what the Ultra Care option does on Neptune dryers? I just got a MAH4000 and MDE4000 set, I cant find a manual online for it. The wiring diagram shows that Ultra Care has its own thermostat?

    What do you think?

They still made junk back in the day too... Ahem, WCI.    I think things were made differently many years ago, sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worst. One example is the Whirlpool 27 inch dryer. Good design, but the newer models are a little cheaper feeling.    Appliances are...

    2018 dream vintage washer quest

2018 quest This year Pierre, if I can find a matching Beaumark set like this, either the brown, black, or white panel, I would be happy.

    What the Wig-Wag?!

If you have a good multi meter Id check the spin coil, and agitate too while your at it, for resistance. I cant remember the exact value but when I get home Ill get it for you. Sometimes a broken wire may be hard to diagnose as you may get continuity at certain angles, but not others.

    Is it just me?

If you can hold out for two years, youll be okay. One more interest rate gain, yeild curve flattening, second longest business cycle ever, mounds of US government debt and a tax cut all while spending increases, and the rise of oil prices are all signs of a recession to come. SO maybe, just...

    What the Wig-Wag?!

While I try to find your original thread, I wonder if one of the wires in the wig wag harness is cracked? I had that on my portable machine. It would spin, but it would stop spinning, start spinning, stop spinning etc... at the same frequency as the wig wag hahaha.   OR it could be a faulty...

Maytag A211 replaced with A210 a few questions please

The belts naturally slip on a Maytag when its draining and spinning. Once the water is out of the tub the slip will become less and less.

Maytag A211 replaced with A210 a few questions please

Learn something new every day! I do see it on the breakdown for the 806. I had no idea they has a rubber stop ring, I always thought it was friction fit just by the plastic.

    SQ TR7, TR5 & TR3 Verified glowing reviews

No one is saying SQ as a whole is the modern day WCI, that all of their products are junk. Were just saying their top loaders are junk. Front loaders are still cool with us.

Maytag A211 replaced with A210 a few questions please

Im not sure what that part is, or where it belongs to. Its not listed on the A210 or 211 in any of the parts breakdown sheets near the agitator. I have two Maytags that have some vertical play, Im not worried about it.
