Thats been my theory, I know there's other things about a detergent formula that change how well it works, but I have been giving a lot of credit for the additional cleaning ability of this stuff. It really does seem to be the magic ingredient.

Yes, it definitely is. Some lighter plastic items I would not recommend putting on the bottom rack during the heated dry. If in doubt, just put it on the top rack.

Very true, some machines don't need as much. I have a Whirlpool PowerClean and hard water. If we had soft water or a machine that used less water I'd use less most likely.

I use about two heaping tablespoons full in the main wash, I'll usually add another to the pre wash if things are rather manky.

I’ve been suspecting something of this variety recently while frequenting the ReStores around here. Not seeing the 80s model dishwashers that I used to see, and some of the 90s ones too. But this has been over the last year, I’d say really the last 6 months.

It really was those of us without soft water that got (pun intended) hit hardest when they removed the phosphates.

I’ll actually do that, add a Finish tab to the prewash if I feel I have some very dirty stuff in there.

You'll notice you don't feel the need to ever use any kind of dishwasher cleaner again. Let's face it, I feel if its not getting the inside of itself clean, is it really cleaning your dishes?

A good friend of mine is installing some central vac systems in these swanky nursing homes for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s that are being built, they have these dishwashers in the kitchens. It’s sort of a multi building thing, like a group of large houses sort of.

I’d recommend getting a detergent like Bubble Bandit or Cascade fryer boil that had the STPP already in it, by the time you buy detergent and STPP.
