Unfortunate news about the ‘63 Whirlpool

Possible Replacement Hi Sean, sorry for the delay responding. The timer I have may work for you, but it's from 1967. It has the same cycles yours does, but with the updated PP cycle. From a cycling standpoint it should work, but not sure it it will fit your machine (you may have to make a...

Unfortunate news about the ‘63 Whirlpool

Hi Sean, Call can you post a picture of your timer dial? I might have a timer that will work for you.

    National Coop Dishwaher?

Early Whirlpool pump I believe this pump is for Whirlpools first spray arm dishwashers. One of our members, Turquoisedude, has a version of the machine that would use this pump (the Telephone Dial timer control). Paul, you should check out this part and grab it as a backup for your machine.

during the course of 2023 if you had to buy a vintage washer to replace your modern washer

Does it have to be a set? My choice would be a 1961 Whirlpool Ultimatic combination. This was the second year with the high speed spin of 400 rpm (reduced from 525 in the 1960 intro) and with the re-designed vent system. Spin speeds were reduced to eliminate a spray of water to loosen the...

Do we have any members in Knoxville TN area?

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this post. Do we have any members in the Knoxville, TN area? There is a Whirlpool portable dishwasher on Craigslist there (it was also posted here in Shoppers Square about 3 wks ago). It is style I have wanted for quite some time. I contacted the...

    1971 lady Kenmore washer

Congrats John and great job. I love it! I like the colored control panel. It's fun to modify machines to do something different &/or better. I love to experiment! I just finished a rebuild of my 62 Imperial. My center post was toast; I had a local machine shop we partner with fashion a new...

    1965 Kenmore 70 Coppertone Set

Congratulations! Awesome score Jon! These are great machines. My friend had this set in his kitchen; his mom would sometimes let me watch her load it and see it operate. She never used the W-n-W cycle; she thought it wasn't working correctly because of the partial drain. I guess she didn't...

1968 Programmed 4 Speed GE Filter Flo And Versatronic Dryer

Congratulations!! Wow, that is a nice set. They are really beautiful! A very cool console design; I love the lighted pointer! Does the dryer pointer light up as well? I've never worked on/used a 3 or 4 speed machine (I've never seen a 4 speed version). I'll have to so some reading up on...

    Whirlpool/Sears Belt-Drive Bearing Tool Needed

Hi Jon, I actually have an extra bearing installer tool you can have. I got two of them in a tools donation to our ReStore and I nabbed them both. I don't have a bearing removal tool, but in the past I've used a hacksaw blade to cut out the old bearing (takes some elbow grease, but it...

    Can anyone identify this?

That's a Frigidaire washer. Not sure of Year but definitely 80's or later.

    WP Dishwasher questions

Sorry, a little late to this thread. No, you do not have to push in the timer before opening the door. There is a door interlock switch that interrupts all power when the door release is pushed up. When you shut the door again and it latches the machine will resume where it left off...

    The Powerhouse

Definitely an early Potscrubber. The first push button cycle says Power Scrub (a little hard to read but definitely there!) The interior looks ok so it could be a decent deal if someone wants it and can clean up the control panel.

Sorry Sean, I did not watch the video closely enough. My bad! :) What happened to the original transmission?

    Whirlpool transmission noises

Eccentric adjustment Hi Sean, two reasons for knocking I can think of are: 1)The agitator is loose on the drive lug &/or the lug is loose on the shaft (I know, obvious but worth checking) 2)The eccentric on the main drive pulley is out of adjustment (rare, but can occur). I've attached...

Permanent Press Cooldown That Fills While Agitating

Wiring diagram/cycle chart This is from model LSA9920 (1968). You can see the increments for Drain/Fill & then Fill/Agitate. All WP & KM washers used this sequence from 1967 until about 1975/76 when it changed to reduce water consumption. At that time WP (& other manufacturers) must have...

    Free Kitchen Aid dw-Tomahawk, WI

It's actually a KDS 20. There Is a reflection of a car bumper (or something) in the Chrome where the switch bank is positioned, making it Very hard to discern. The KDS 18 had oval Jewel cycle indicator lights; this model has rectangular lights
