    A new toy!

Some updates Thanks for the comments everyone. Steve, thank you very much for posting that ephemera info. I appreciate your help identifying more information; it really helps understand what the various features are and what they’re supposed to do. Paul, yes the tub is all porcelain. Would...

    A new toy!

Hi everyone. I want to share a recent acquisition of mine. I stumbled across it on Facebook marketplace and picked it up this week. Presenting the Westinghouse Continental 700 portable/convertible dishwasher! I’ve never had a Westinghouse dishwasher of any series so i’m psyched to get this...

    Anyone Need/ Want a KDS-20?

Not a gravity drain This unit is not a gravity drain. It pumps the water out through the lower half of the man pump. The drain valve stays closed until the timer calls for the drain period. It opens for 90 seconds or so. It will work in any kitchen with a standard drain line for a dishwasher.

Hi Christina, sorry to hear about FRAN. Do you have a pic of the control panel? Also, would you have a fabric softener dispenser?

Avocado Whirlpool dishwasher, cook top, oven

Very rare Whirlpool in first post. It's the SHU9000. Have never seen one in person. Amongst the cycle selections you can choose to turn off the water heating as well as dry heat. I believe the Super Scour overrode the water heat option to ensure the cycle scrubbed as it should. Beautiful...

    Vintage portable dishwasher

It's a Whirlpool. The vortex logo is on the top left. You can see RCA Whirlpool in the top right of control panel. I think it's an Imperial model (7 pushbuttons)

    Before I give up....

Sorry, a little late to this thread. I had a similar problem with my WU601. I discovered the lower arm was not turning properly; it was very slow or didn't move at all. After working on it for a bit I discovered that the two nylon washers at the top of the backwash arm were not correctly in...

    1960’s Waste King dishwasher

Congratulations on getting this very rare machine! I'm glad it was saved. I noticed that this dishwasher has a seperate drain pump instead of using the main pump for draining. I did not know Wasteking had two different pump styles for this series of machines (literature for these early...

    1960’s Waste King dishwasher

Wasteking Design This is definitely a WasteKing designed machine, not a rebaged Beam. Mechanically it's the same as their built in models; the washarm and rack pattern were typical of Wasteking machines of the era. Like Bob, my family had a Wasteking dishwasher from 1962. Their design was...

    Maytag Rinse Switch needed

Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum to post this in. Unfotunately the rinse switch for my A702S cracked in half. Does anyone have an extra they would like to sell? I have searched everywhere for this part and cannot locate it. Has anyone tried to repair this type of switch or found a...

    Caloric MW Range

Caloric ME Range That's a very good range. It was one of the first combination microwave & electric ranges manufactured. Caloric made them in electric & gas. The gas one cooked very well; I tested one of these in college and it literally cooked a 10 lb whole chicken in about 22 minutes. The...

    Kitchenaid Superba Dishwasher

Hi Larry, do you know where this is located?

    What model of Kitchenaid dishwashers

I agree with Ben, #2 & then #4. Both offer the best combination of washing & rinsing action. #4 had a better filtration system, but only one full final rinse (there is a short Purge fill between the main wash & final rinse). Some Imperial models had slightly longer main wash times than their...

    Inherited Kitchenaid dishwasher help

Program switch I believe your problem is with a part called the program switch reset lever. When you open the door the program switch button is supposed to move back out. When you close the door you have to push the button again to start the machine. In your picture with the door latch open I...

KitchenAid Superba KDS-17A dishwasher - cycle does not advance

Hi, I have an extra timer for this machine that you can have. Send me a PM with your address and I’ll let you know what shipping is. There is pressure switch as Glenn mentioned that should have shut off the water. Check for a clog at the opening inside the sump (about 8 o’clock position)...

Need a timer for a Kitchenaid Patrician dishwasher (KDP-19)

Yes, that timer will work in your machine. At some point in time Whirlpool began putting there own part numbers on the older KA parts. The 4 as the first digits indicates Whirlpool numbering.

    Spotted at Peddlers auction.....

Stunning! Wow! That is a really nice looking range; the color is gorgeous!! Hope you win it! Tom’s observation regarding the lower oven is a design flaw. While the range may perform great, using it for a large meal would be a challenge. That aside it is one smart looking appliance. I love...

    Meet the HORTONS!

Nice! Wow, i've never heard of this brand. I love the look! As you said they look like Launderalls, but more Bendixish underneath. Pretty simple looking setup. Where were these marketed? Congratulations on acquiring such a cool looking pair! Have fun with them!!

    RCA Whirlpool Thread!

Yes, the bleach dispenser is timed. Whirlpool offered a few models over the years with just a single timed bleach dispenser. If I want to add softener I use the agitator mounted dispenser. I haven't used the Suds-Saver feature yet. When I got the machine the suds valve assembly had been...
