    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

"Dan, will this tempering valve work? Found this awhile back on Amazon." That looks like it'll work. The only spec I don't see is flow rating.

    Maytag WW in Avocado

Gross as that avocado wringer seems it can be scrubbed up an I love saving gross appliances and then cleaning, polishing, and getting them functioning and looking like new. The transition hits my dopamine receptors pretty hard.

Inglis TO-41001 Commercial Belt Drive Rebuild -A few questions-

Congrats on finishing the plumbing fiasco, cast iron is a nightmare to deal with when it's old. Shoot us a picture of the bathroom when you're done, especially if the toilet is original to the house.

    Maytag WW in Avocado

Good 'ol workhorses with great parts availability. Not a bad idea to have one as a backup if you got a newer washer that doesn't have the best reliability. A comforter won't fit in there but guaranteed to get your wardrobe clean.

    Is This Washer Overloaded?

It's in my opinion. This is how fabrics get damaged, especially in these machines.

Squealing Sound, Burnt Rubber Smell, Maytag A Series

Sounds like the pump bearings are locking up. You'll have belt residue around the pump pulley from the belt slipping if this is the case. The belt will also be glazed. That's an easy fix, replace the pump. New pumps available now are aftermarket. Their quality is unknown.

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

The tempering valve output is connected to the cold water valve of the washer only. It doesn't affect the hot side of the water valve other than stealing a bit of water from the hot water tap during cold and warm selections to increase the temperature...

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

"Right, but if I want a 140*F hot wash?" Then select "Hot" and the washer gets tap hot water directly to the hot side of the water valve from the water heater like a traditional setup. The tempering valve has 3 hookups. Cold water is fed to one side of the valve directly from the cold water...

85-90F is perfectly fine for washing and rising, no need to adjust.

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Tempering valve is EXACTLY what you're looking for! Seriously, get one and have your mind blown. It mixes water to whatever temp you want from 80F-120F, all of the mixing is done BEFORE it goes to your water valve. No stupid cold/hot alternating garbage most ATC equipped top loading washers...

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Honestly, just getting a tempering valve and setting it on the warmer side of the cold, like 90F, will significantly enhance both washing and rinsing performance instead of fooling around with a warm rinse to accomplish better rinsing. Most people are washing and rinsing their cold, and probably...

"Eddie, since you’re in California, I completely understand your concerns about water usage. Your state has faced severe shortages (or at least it did, from what I recall), and water isn’t as abundant in your area." California doesn't have a water shortage problem most of the time, they have a...
