Photo of Early A806 *NON-PP* Timer Dial?

The Kenmore 90 I have has One Rinse and 2nd Rinse on the options knob, no Prewash Only and Soak Only choices.

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

My paternal aunt has a WP Alpha WFW94HEX (serial May 2012). It has had one repair, motor board failure in June 2018 (which I diagnosed and ordered the part for them, uncle installed it).

Photo of Early A806 *NON-PP* Timer Dial?

I remember Whirlpool would do a half tub drain instead of a full drain between pre-wash and wash.
That's only on the true Super Wash option available on some belt-drive (on both Normal and Perm Press) and direct-drive models (including KitchenAid, called it Extra...

Photo of Early A806 *NON-PP* Timer Dial?

The full automatic sequence is Pre-Wash for the selected time, spin, refill, Soak period, proceed through the Regular cycle with full wash time. Usage instructions direct the user to add powder or liquid detergent to the basket for the pre-wash and liquid detergent to the softener dispenser...

Nope, can't use pods/packs, unless I get a different dishwasher.

I may have hit the vintage jackpot…

The parents'/mom's current house was built in the early 1970s, originally had this Roper double wall oven and matching cooktop. The Kenmore range hood dates to the mid 1970s, was moved over from our previous (1964) house when they bought this house in 1983. The photos are from 2001. The...

    Spray Rinse Patents

The very first top-loading automatic washer patent filed in 1934 by Apex
My understanding is that the first automatic washer of any type was a Bendix frontloader in 1937. Is that wrong? I don't see a timer in the diagrams on US1969176. It's tedious to closely read...

    EPA Reversals

My private well is not gravity-fed, the storage tank is at ground level. It runs the pump to keep the tank filled which also maintains pressure. Two consecutive flushes of a low-water toilet* is sufficient usage to trigger the pump and involve electricity. The aerobic septic system also...

Need help with identifying this Dryer by the photo

I found a reference to it as model DG303. It has Regular Fabrics and Perm Press thermostatic auto-dry cycles, timed Air Fluff. No timed heat-dry cycle. The pics I have are saved of one from a sale someone shared three years ago. The serial number on that specimen is April 1989. I have no...

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Don’t even know the cold wash warm rinse is even an option on the later TOL Mark 18’s [sic]
You're presumably referring to the electronic WP (and KM) models, which have a separate option for Warm Rinse so cold wash with warm rinse should be possible unless the firmware...

When do these go into production? Availability at big-box stores, independent dealers, or only direct from the factory?

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Is cold/warm possible on a Maytag A806 with separate buttons for wash and rinse temp choices, or does the circuitry override cold wash to always have a cold rinse?

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Robert, thanks for the larger image. The 1960 model does have that setting labeled Slow Wash / Slow Wash on the brochure art.

    Fisher & Paykel W&D Set

I noticed on a look-back that at least two, probably all three, of the lower fins on the agitator are broken off. It can't properly auto-sense the water level or agitation profile without those fins. I'm guessing caused by extreme overloading, or washing shoes in a wrong way. Or maybe...

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

I have this saved as part of a set of sales literature pages* of this and other 1960 models, not as a Pic-of-the-Day. I don't have a reference who posted them. It apparently has come up as a PotD, which is odd I don't have it as such being that I've saved the PotDs for *years*, checking...

    Best washers and dryers

Jerome, there were WP direct-drive coin-op models that surely had the same transmission design as the consumer-home models ... are you not aware that the direct-drive transmission has several plastic parts? ... the agitate shift cam parts, the spin drive gear, and some neutral drain components.

    Fisher & Paykel W&D Set

Appears to be an IWL12 washer ... extremely versatile, tons of options. DEGX1 dryer. Same models I bought new in Oct 2004. Chetlaham would be fascinated by how the ATC works.

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Wool can be washed in warm water, and up to hot if mechanical agitation/friction is minimal to none (soaking).
