  I noticed on a look-back that at least two, probably all three, of the lower fins on the agitator are broken off.  It can't properly auto-sense the water level or agitation profile without those fins.  I'm guessing caused by extreme overloading, or washing shoes in a wrong way.  Or maybe...

  Jerome, there were WP direct-drive coin-op models that surely had the same transmission design as the consumer-home models ... are you not aware that the direct-drive transmission has several plastic parts? ... the agitate shift cam parts, the spin drive gear, and some neutral drain components.

  Wool can be washed in warm water, and up to hot if mechanical agitation/friction is minimal to none (soaking).
