When did GE start to go bad?

GE Dryer   Fisher & Paykel's dryer on the U.S. market prior to introduction of the SmartLoad was a rebadged GE (made by Camco).  They went to rebadged GE again for a few years after discontinuation of SmartLoad before exiting the US toploader market. I have an F&P/GE/Camco DE04 bought in July...

Maytag walks across floor during spin cycle

<blockquote>There is a 'drain and spin' selection, but for some dumb reason it adds water (twice) in between spinning.</blockquote> Drain and Spin is correct for the purpose.  The brief water sprays aren't an issue, the point is to run it on spin with no clothes (if you haven't thus far) to...

if you bough a house in 2025 with a modern vmw topload washer and modern frontload

Laundry appliances don't typically convey with house sales here, in my experience and others with with I'm familiar.  Refrigerators may or may not depending on circumstances.  Dishwashers, set-in or drop-in ranges, cooktops and wall oven typically do for being "built-in." I took the...

Maytag Machines After Whirlpool Buyout - What Remained?

<blockquote>Whirlpool also kept the Maytag-designed DishDrawer competitor, which I believe never saw the light of day as a Maytag, only as KitchenAid and Kenmore Elite</blockquote> The first-generation KA was a rebadged F&P.

When did Maytag start to go bad?

<blockquote>The worst washer Maytag has made was the Neptune TL, those things are pretty much extinct now.</blockquote> I have a Neptune TL 6800, bought new on clearance via eBay from an outfit in New Jersey in May 2008 (serial is Dec 2005) for a whopping $325 including shipping to TX. The...

When did GE start to go bad?

<blockquote>I heard that fabric softener just builds up in your washer and causes it to stink.</blockquote> It does not if proper laundry and machine-usage habits are followed ... don't overdose the softener, don't skimp on detergent dosage, avoid cold* washing, thoroughly rinse the machine's...

Maytag walks across floor during spin cycle

<blockquote>It's officially a Whirlpool but I was told by them that it's made by Maytag (or maybe the other way around, don't remember) because the technical manual they sent me (pdf file) is titled Whirlpool-Maytag-mvwc400.</blockquote> Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006.  Maytag factories were...

    What is a Cycle?

<blockquote>Especially the auto soak prior to the cycle.</blockquote> The Super Wash "soak" of two timer increments is a 2-minute pause for heavy soil to settle and a partial drain (to pressure switch reset) with a pause for the remainder of the 2-min drain increment.

Maytag walks across floor during spin cycle

TooConfused, Your post title references Maytag but the message references Whirlpool WTW5000DW (definitely a WP model number), so that presumably is the machine of problem? D in the model number indicates model-year 2014 although it was produced for several years longer.  There's a number 0...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

A few more retired Duet pics. The pump trap reeks of sewage odor.  I'm surprised there's no debris or coinage.

    my fear

There's nothing in either the tech sheet or service manual regards to those indicator lights referencing a fault code.  Fault codes are in format of FnEn on the numeric display by accessing service/diagnostic mode.

    my fear

<blockquote>... do you know what the error code is when cool led light flash done led light flash and end of cycle signal off light flashing means?</blockquote> Cite the model number, there may be a tech sheet with the fault codes explained available on WP's service portal.

Rinsing on OLD fashioned Top Load washers

Rinsing is primarily a process of dilution ... so short agitation time isn't a serious problem.  Some rollover is helpful to insure distribution of softener but even a half-roll is enough for that.  IMO.

    KDI-21 Imperial

Cite the model number, it's on a plate attached to the (left) edge of the tub frame, visible when the door is open.  A user guide probably can be found at Whirlpool's service portal.  Probably also a parts diagram which may or may not be helpful in dealing with the door seal.  May be best to...

Epitome of proper daily laundry sorting???

<blockquote>... didn’t Hotpoint in the 1960’s have a mini-basket which you could wash another load simultaneously?</blockquote> Sean, you're thinking of the Hotpoint Duo-Load.  It's similar to GE's Mini-Basket but different in that the Duo-Load small basket is isolated from the regular...

Epitome of proper daily laundry sorting???

That video is odd, mirrored/flipped and the narration likely is dubbed English.  I doubt the machine is, or will be, aimed at the U.S. market.
