After driving the same car for 16 years, I bought a new one!

Thank you all!     Bob, THANK YOU!  I have wanted to drive something like this, meaning a car which is this athletic and well rounded performance wise for the last 20+ years!  Added bonus, it's a Cadillac!  Meaning it can also be very comfortable and quiet.... tho it's not as cushy as the...

After driving the same car for 16 years, I bought a new one!

So… after driving my SUPER exciting Camry hybrid (yawn!) the last 16 years, I decided it was time to get something new and a bit more fun to drive. I was kinda seriously considering going EV (Ford Mustang Mach-E GT) and I probably would have been relatively happy, but then another car came on...

    FOR SALE: *Turquoise* 1967 Lady Kenmore W & D in L.A.

Hi John, Yes this is one of the 2 washers you replaced the bearings in during my wash-in. My “collection” has changed a lot since the wash in. I’ve tried to “thin things out” by slowly selling a lot of my collection. But many other machines found their way into my garage since then, so I...

How many loads of laundry do you guys do per week?

2 of us and a dog here. I usually do 4 to 6 loads per week (add 2-3 loads more if I bathe the dog = towels + doggy bedding) always done on the weekend. On the rare occasions if I don’t do laundry one weekend, I’ll end up doing 10-12 loads the next weekend. We both have enough clothes we can go...

Ben, I am honored and amazed by the amount of time, energy and love you put into the restoration of this beautiful little Bendix washer! I knew I made the right decision passing this machine on to you! I am truly in awe of your ability and attention to detail in recreating the printed...

    Westinghouse door boots

A little late to the thread…. I have a 1957 Westinghouse Spacemate, by chance is the boot in question the same for this model? I would be interested in one for this washer! Darren, when will you be in the US and any chance you’ll be in Los Angeles again? Kevin

Really want a vintage gas range but afraid....

Weed30 (AND Bradfordwhite): I just want to add I grew up with a gas stove and have had at least a gas cook top in every home I’ve lived in. My mom has had the same O’Keefe & Merrrit stove with 24-7 pilot lights for nearly 60 years now and NOT ONCE has she OR the house blown up. Just sayin…… 😉

Wow, saw a Miele appliance commercial today.

Yeah I saw that commercial too! Normally I fast forward through commercials via the DVR, but that one caught my eye so I backed it up and watched it (as I have a number of Miele products). That’s the first Miele TV I remember seeing.

    Miele set

Launderess are you on Facebook? It’s listed in FB marketplace and I’m able to see it. It’s an older 220V washer and condenser dryer.

    Niagra Portable Washer

I have one! I will dust it off, hook it up and make a video when I get a chance. I will say it does wash really well, but I much prefer a fully automatic washer (that spins) .... which is why it sits here doing the “dust collection test”.

Dishwasher Question: The Peanut Butter test...

Another member and I are talking about both running “the peanut butter test” (peanut butter smeared in 3-5 glasses) in our dishwashers on the same day, then comparing the results. He has a newer Bosch (and a KDS17), I have a 4 year old Miele. My questions are: 1. What cycle would you suggest...

    Miele Dryer

I started to reply a couple hours ago, but got distracted, so Launderess beat me to the punch. It’s a smaller 24” wide dryer, is vented, is about 20 years old and should perform well. I also agree, I wouldn’t pay more than $100 for it. Kevin
