thanks john is it hard to find replacement racks for these? the racks are pretty heavily worn...might be hard to fully repair. Looks like its been in constant service since the early 80s

Looking at an CL ad for a KDS-18 and it says it won't drain properly. What can be typical causes of that and is usually easily fixed or could it be a major problem?

Spin drain Did makers of direct drives resurrect spin drains in whirlpools and kenmores in the 80s/90s/00s? I thought whirlpools and kenmores were always neutral drains but i also noticed my sisters whirlpool from the early 00s did a spin drain too

At my mom's and was using her 2005 Kenmore 80 and noticed it has 3 agitation speeds: Heavy Duty/(Fast), Normal/Delicate (slow) and Handwash (Extra Slow). I thought 3 speeds for agitation had gone out years ago.
