Frigidaire all the way! From unimatic to 1-18 the action, the panel designs, all were the best in my opinion. Too bad jet action can't be revived in new machines today.

loud though i have to laugh when i see these setups with the washer in/near the kitchen. My aunt had her 1-18 in the kitchen and every time you called after she answered she had to stop and shut the washer off so she could hear what you were saying!

Just a heads up..,there is a seller on ebay who has SIX 1-18 new jet flow lint filters. I got one this week and it came in original packaging, with blue lettering....$35 bucks each but nice if you want the true original.

Frigidaire 1-18 is my favorite. I love the jet-age branding...the jet cone agitator, jet flow lint filter and jet action of the machine. I think the jet cone is very modern looking, even today. Also like the look of the consoles of the early 1-18..very sleek, lots of chrome, etc

no i agree with Mickeyd...in a Frigidaire 1-18 you don't need a second rinse. Many times after the initial rinse during the spin, the rinse water of the deep rinse is pretty clear. Then they get another spray during the final spin. That's enough!
