Desperately seeking pink electric stove

Here's a GE in the St. Louis metro area that's pretty cool looking! EDIT: I just noticed this was listed 41 weeks ago. But I'd still contact if you're interested - some sellers keep stuff for a long time. You can get shipping quotes at uShip...

Vintage Maytag Gas Dryer in St. Louis

I don't know if this is a "goodie", but it appears clean and the $45 price is nice! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1174951743270648/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks

    Powder Post Beetles?

Agree with Matt - any dry item goes in the freezer for a week before putting in the pantry to kill any eggs. I freeze literally anything that is not canned. Nuts, crackers, etc. Once you clear and wash off all of the shelves, you can put some Diatomaceous earth around the perimeter in the crack...

Help please! Do these GE Dishwashers have interchangeable racks?

Agree This same sister's over the range microwave broke a few months back. It wouldn't lock or start when you closed it. I watched a video on YouTube that exactly described the problem and showed you how to fix it. The spring inside the door/handle had come...

Help please! Do these GE Dishwashers have interchangeable racks?

@combo52: The upper rack from the donor unit had different rails and wheels, so we swapped out the rails/wheels and it worked!!! The new racks are in pristine condition, not one rust mark or ding :) So we saved close to $400 by not having to buy new racks (or a whole new dishwasher). It...

Help please! Do these GE Dishwashers have interchangeable racks?

Thank you. The only thing wrong with it according to the owner is the door switch spring is broken, which is a cheap part. So if the racks don't fit we can just install this one.

Free Hobart KDS 21 - should I get it?

This is free near me - is this model any good? I'm currently using a Hotpoint that's probably from the late 90s that works fine but isn't very stylish :) https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/489759569525841

Nevermind, I was able to find the part numbers and they are different :(

Help please! Do these GE Dishwashers have interchangeable racks?

I'm trying to help my sister replace her rusted out dishwasher racks. I found one that looks really similar on FB Marketplace, and hoping the racks are interchangeable: Her model: GLD4466R00SS Possible donor model: GLD5654V00CS I'm searching parts websites to try to figure this out...

Thoughts on this vintage Magic Chef?

I would love a full induction cooktop! But having just one burner to move about won't work in my very tiny kitchen. I'm sure something that meets my needs will come up on FB Mkt or CList eventually. I've also considered running 220 to my kitchen but not sure how expensive that is, including...

Thoughts on this vintage Magic Chef?

@dadoes - it turns out that the range was the same model as your granny's. It was nice but all 4 burners are 9000 BTU so I passed on it. I need at least one 12000, so I continue my hunt.

Thoughts on this vintage Magic Chef?

@dadoes - thanks for that information! I don't plan on using the self clean feature - I'm not a fan of them. I rarely use the oven and when I do I put my pot or pan on a sheet pan so any drips are contained.

@Tomturbomatic - and this is why I appreciate this forum so much! I see what you mean about the burners. I haven't had any luck finding a manual or even any vintage ads for it online, which sometimes provides valuable details.

<span...

Thoughts on this vintage Magic Chef?

Thank you! I have never heard of a continuous clean oven. I looked it up and dang...so weird that this was a thing. I don't understand why an oven that couldn't be cleaned was made?! What's good in my case is that I do 95% of my cooking on the cooktop so this won't be a big issue for me. My...

Thoughts on this vintage Magic Chef?

I'm still looking for a vintage gas range, but I've moved on to "newer vintage" since I can't find someone in St. Louis who can service the older ones. (If anyone in St. Louis knows of someone, please let me know!) I found this one which I like and it seems clean but I haven't gone to see it...

    Kitchenaid Blender

"there are no gaskets on the kitchenaid" Well I'm not surprised they leak then! I hope this one works out for you, but seriously look at vintage blenders if it doesn't.

    Kitchenaid Blender

Is there a reason you don't want a vintage one? I have two Osterizers from the 60s/70s and they are beasts! One was my mom's, the other my dad's. Their motors are strong and they were made so well back then. Mine have chrome bodies but the later versions with plastic bodies are also well made...
