Possible free Frigidaire Flair range and Kitchenaid Superba in St. Louis

I went to a tear-down, and there is a Frigidaire Flair and a Kitchenaid Superba by Hobart dishwasher that might be headed for the dump. There is also an awesome roll out hood for the range that I didn't get a picture of. If anyone is interested and could get them quickly, let me know. The home...

    1956 Frigidaire Imperial Cold-Pantry

Need repair in St. Louis My Frigidaire Imperial needs repairs. It cools but the motor (compressor?) makes a LOT of noise. I think it might need a pad to quiet the vibration? The evap fan inside the fridge has a broken wire. I think I can fix that, but if I can find someone to fix the noise I'd...

    Coffeemaster cord and pin problem

Yes, but this happened to three! If it was just one unit, I wouldn't be concerned, but this happened to *three* Coffeemasters. All are C30-A, and one was NIB. I did use that one for probably 4 years before it failed. The next two were fine when I first got them. Or at least they seemed fine...I...

    Coffeemaster cord and pin problem

Bought a new one... So I found a pretty good deal on a complete C30-B that I'm going to try. This will be my last Coffeemaster though, because I'm *really* concerned about a fire. I can't figure out what is causing my plugs/pins to deteriorate. Maybe it's the presumably old wiring in my 1951...

    Coffeemaster cord and pin problem

Not the same cord I've not used the same cord. If the cord fits snugly on the pins, does it matter if you use a cord from a different vintage appliance? Or a new replacement cord that fits? I've used both.

    Coffeemaster cord and pin problem

Actually there are three of them! Just found another one in my basement - same issue. The right pin in the base is loose and the housing around it deteriorated like the photo above. So weird.

    Coffeemaster cord and pin problem

I have a coffeemaster (several actually) and this is the second one where I've had a problem with one pin. The cord is a replacement, but the other coffeemaster did the same thing with the original cord. Can someone tell me why this is happening? I know it's a fire hazard. I don't remove the...

I know someone here has this TST china - great price on coffee pot

Taylor Smith Taylor brown version of "Cathay" coffee server - I think the BIN price is very fair. I know someone here found a set of this pattern/color a couple years back for a great price, so whoever it was might like this ~...

    Shipper recommendations

They don't service every state, but TSC moving is pretty reasonable. They do blanket wrap. Because they are just filling open space in a truck that's already headed your way, you might have to wait a week or three for delivery. I had two bachelor's chests (35" x 32" x 18" each, solid wood and...

Pink Flair Range and Refrigerator - $275 each

Just in case anyone is in the market, and/or near Cleveland, here is a really sweet pink Flair & pink GE(?) Fridge. They were posted on Retro Renovation's forum, linked below. http://retrorenovation.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6337

    "The Blizzard of 2011" !?!?

Dateline: St. Louis Suburbs Freezing rain off and on most of yesterday, then sleet all morning. I had already planned on not going to work today, and glad I did since my street was a sheet of ice when I got up.  We're having a break now, and snow will be next. I think I'm going to get...

    Vintage Homart sink for sale

I am not sure if anyone here would be interested, but this sink was linked on another forum. I think it's a laundry sink, and sounds like it's in great shape. The owner is willing to ship via Greyhound. http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/hsh/2026080362.html

    One and JUST one detergent

Thanks Sudsman. I bought a big box of the powder, 200 washes I think, on sale for $12.99. I really hesitated though, because the instructions say to wait until the water fills and sprinkle it on top. Why do you have to do that? I picture myself forgetting to go back downstairs once the...

    One and JUST one detergent

Great Topic! I am going to try the Sears Ultra. I'm currently using Purex Mountain Breeze because I like how it smells and it's not too expensive. I usually prefer liquid detergent - is the Sears Ultra liquid as good as the powder? I have a 4 year old top loading Kenmore Elite if that matters.

    Electro Hygiene Vacuums

Yeah, that was a fast bid match! I had a little regret afterward...I didn't NEED a vacuum at all. But that upright was just so great looking. Then I tried it out when I got home and as mentioned upthread, it is so lightweight and easy to move! So it's a keeper. I got the vinyl sofa &...

    Electro Hygiene Vacuums

cfz2882 Have you ever tried to get your Jet Set fixed? The one I have is in mint condition, other than the fact that it doesn't work :)

    Electro Hygiene Vacuums

Thanks for the info both of you! And those ads are great. One of the other items I bought today is a 1965 Westinghouse Jet Set TV. I found a vintage commercial for it on YouTube! (Unfortunately, this TV does not photograph well. It's pretty cool looking in person!)

    Vintage British GE kettle...

    Electro Hygiene Vacuums

I should also mention..... At this auction (an estate auction at a house), they had what I think was a center dial 806 Maytag washer and matching dryer. Really cool looking.
