Jerome, here is some ear candy. A GE filter flo with the back cardboard cover removed while the dryer runs with the vent hose disconnected. Looks like some laundry room cleaning/maintenance. The video absolutely gets me, the washer is so beautiful inside.      

I miss the induction motors too.   Personally I think a precision built PSC motor on a Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module would be the best sounding.

That really does look like a solid tub. The cycle sequence appears to indicate a continuous overflow rinse if I am reading it correctly. 

The pressure switch version also has a timed fill, the timer motor is energized regardless of the pressure switch being opened or closed. Thats what makes me so intrigued.

Yes, the new builder models use a brush motor.   It is possible your model was older, more advanced or different and used a wet rotor, VFD or induction motor.
