    Dish soap clogging dispenser

Hey guys... I usually use Dawn from costco but bought the Kirkland similar to dawn version in the picture... I had tried it a LOOONG time ago and forgotten why I never bought it again... I transfer it to one of those old dish bottles I have where the top lifts up and pushes down becuase I find...

Favorite dishwasher detergent and rinse aid...

i'm starting to think any dishwasher detergent with a little STPP added... It's CRAZY what adding like 1/2 tbs of STPP can do for a crappy dishwasher pod/tablet/powder/gel and even top shelf ones. I'm about to buy another 1lb of STPP on Amazon because my ten year stash I bought LONG ago is...

    My Whirlpool dishwasher

Definitely let us know if you figure it out... I wonder what in the world that could be? It's definitely not the clunk the dispenser makes or the rinse aid... those don't make rhythmic sounds.

    18"Danby DW

Cool! I remember I went to my grandma's sisters house about 1/2 mile up the road one day (this was in the 80s and I was young... She had a nice house and in their kitchen that had a green GE 18 inch dishwasher and I remember thinking "What is this?" I knew it was a dishwasher but I was...

Is this a good model Speed Queen to buy used?

I've never seen a speed queen like this... and it's a FRONT loader.... at least you got to see it work for yourself. Hopefully it lasts and there are no issues. I'd be running some cleaning cycles through it and scrubbing all of the nooks and crannies

Newer Whirlpool washers known for control board failures?

GE UltraFresh Vent System actually works!

I think you're right about the little bit of bleach sitting in the dispenser waiting to be dispensed helps.. but it doesn't TOTALLY help (at least in my case).. In my case, I USED to dump residual water and put the dispeser back and simply leaving it slightly opened. Well, that wasn't enough.. I...

When did GE start to go bad?

I can confirm using FS will not build up in your machine.. in my case, I USED to use it on colors/mixed loads...but never with sheets/towels.. Those loads get hot water/bleach... I think the periodic hot washes without FS and with bleach removed any trace of FS that might be allowed to build up...

When did GE start to go bad?

To be clear... is this control board issue I keep hearing about that's really bad strictly related to the TOP loaders with the six lights on the bottom... or is it their FL washers too? About GE... I remember those washers I guess they are called the T models? I didn't know that. They were...

    my fear

I had a small conversation in a youtube comment section with someone who posted a video of their horrible HE TL washer (I think it was from 2017) and miraculously it's made it and still working with no issues... He was watching it try to roll over a load and was cussing it... laughing at how...

GE UltraFresh Vent System actually works!

I would have guessed it would be totally silent... but I guess a fan is involved... Oh well. I mean, when front load washers tumble after the fills have finished, it's basically dead silent... just the clothes/water sloshing is all you can hear... No motor sounds at all. I would have figured it...

GE UltraFresh Vent System actually works!

Wow... so you were able to take the blue piece off completely? If so, that's great that at least you know how to do that... It never occurred to me that that can happen with auto dispense... I didn't even think of that until you JUST MENTIONED it.. Glad you got it sorted out.

GE UltraFresh Vent System actually works!

I literally take mine out, dump water becuase there's always some left in there...occasionally taking it apart and washing it... which is easy.. but more importantly... the housing... it gets plenty of air but I will ocassionally get a cleaning toothbrush and peroxide or bleach (not both) and...

GE UltraFresh Vent System actually works!

I always love hearing good reports on washers... Yes it's only 4 months old but so far, so good.. That's a good sign. I feel like sometimes if something is wrong with the machine it would show up by now... I'm SOOOO GLAD you're taking that dispenser out and dumping the water and letting it...

    my fear

I never understand why they don't find all these things that go wrong after a model is introduced to the market... I mean, I thought they researched and developed the crap out of these things. Wouldn't these problems show up during the MANY HOURS of testing they do on them? I mean, do they not...

Rinsing on OLD fashioned Top Load washers

yesterday I was watching a video of a 1972 Kenmore top load...it was overloaded. I increased the video to 5x to watch and it rolled the load over really well, even though, like I said, it was overloaded... You really need to watch all these washer videos in FAST speed to be able to see the...

Washer and Dryer Cycle Times To Long?

Before I got my front load...and had a top load... the washer was always finished before the dryer... Now it's the opposite... the dryer is finished before the washer...but I've grown to be totally OK with that. Most of the loads I do are around an hour long... that's with heavy duty and extra...

    replacement dishwasher

My point voyager from 2005 was replaced in 2014. I remember one day I was running it in the kitchen and I it was making this HORRIBLE SCREECHING sound and I could smell something burning. I stopped it, hit cancel drain praying it would drain the water. That's when I got my new maytag which has...
