Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

I hardly EVER use it... Maybe once every couple of years... and remember, I didn't even discover it until after I had been using my machine like 13 years or something (LOL) I mean, it fills with lots of water and does the crazy rotations and water goes everywhere... but the water itself ISN'T...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

I vaguely remember you doing that. I think I remember the pictures of where you had this tore down....but I can't remember the story behind it...something about you got it from a relative and tore it down, fixed some things and cleaned it.... It's so funny... of all of the people over the years...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

Right now in April 2025... if I had to buy all new appliances Dishwasher it would be a Whirlpool or Bosch.. I think Whirlpool makes good dishwashers like the Maytag/Kitchenaid/Whirlpool models A refrigerator... I honestly do NOT have a clue... I know definitely not LG or Samsung... Maybe the...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

Personally... I don't feel like this control board problem is any way a new thing.. I feel like over the years I've constantly read stories of control board failures... no matter which company made the appliance. I guess there could be a string of really bad ones...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

I really would be devastated if this happened.... Let's hope they're able to bounce back and he's wrong.

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

The only thing I can think of that the board is still working is the surge protector. It could be luck... but it definitely hasn't hurt it all these yrs so any modern washer I have will be plugged into one... YEARS ago, I learned this machine had a hidden clean washer cycle... you have to press...

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

Yep I've seen them in action and they do well... although the only bad thing is I don't think any of them have extra rinse

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

I wonder how widespread the control board issues are? It seems like they've been going on forever... Even my duet .. it's board went on the 2nd or so year..sometimes in 2007 or 2008... I remember reading something online while I was going through that debacle having it fixed with multiple tech...

First experience with a cheap washer/dryer in an apartment

would one of those 2.7 cu ft front loaders hold about the same amount as the typical TL washers from the 70s/80s that were around 3.2 cubic feet that most ppl had in their homes? I'm guessing minus the agitator it would be equivalent... but I'm totally guessing.

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

EXACTLY!!!! If you wash like a white load of towels/wash clothes/ rags, t shirts it seems OK.... It's when you put thick jeans in or something like a comforter that it does almost NOTHING.... Like the SQ TR series (Unless it's changed from a few years ago)... video demo guy did a load of thick...

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

No clue..the only kind of info I could get was seeing a couple of videos on youtube... I does have water level control... I think the fill settings are auto, low, med, hi, and max...so you do have control with that... I also don't know if the water temps are dumbed down nor do I care really...

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

I actually don't mind the REAL old school TL washers... the ones like the GM Frigidaire (my favorite of all of them)... And then Kenmore's dual action (Yes, I know they shortened the lifespan of clothes) I wasn't a superfan of the straight vane agitators because that's what we had growing...

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

My friend Liz who I used to work with called me. She's like "Mark, I got a new Maytag washer and I freaking LOVE it" Something went wrong with her old TL washer. She couldn't remember the brand name. She doesn't care about appliances at all as long as they just work...She said it was awful and...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

I think pump shaking is not a sing of it failing then I think it's all good... because it sounds really healthy when it does its drains...just for whatever reason before the final spin it gets shaky like that for some reason. It's possible that it's always done this and I've just never noticed...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

Did I mention my duet dryer died like 6 years ago? It was probably TOTALLY repairable... but I replaced it with a standard WP dryer.. It was giving me an error code (I forget which one)..I understood at the time the dryer was probably fine and could be repaired... but I wanted a regular...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

Honestly, I actually like the looks of the NEW FL Whirlpools... I just wish I could see how they actually wash/rinse... To be clear, the only LG appliance I would consider is their FL washer... Nothing else that they make appliance wise.. I would get a Whirlpool dishwaher/Range/Fridge/dryer...

    BobLoad™ Documentation

I've never loaded the dishwasher that full... but close to it... anyway - about tall tub dishwashers... It's CRAZY how you get used to one and then I went to my grandma's house years ago when she was still alive and still had her standard Whirlpool from the 80s that I remember growing up...
