    Neat Westinghouse Stove

I recently catered an event for the Sisters of Christian Charity in Mendham, NJ ( NO... the walls did not bleed when I walked in!) It was a really cool old fashioned "nunnery". The kitchen we used had a really neat Westinghouse stove, but what was even more fascinating was the giant hall we...

    The Price is Right

I just stumbled across the first episode of the TPR from 1972 with all the original commercials too. Lots of appliances, cars and the commercials are fun for tupperware and Ann Blythe for Hostess. http://https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX35wivlucE

    Whirlpool D-2000

That was my very first new washer I bought for my mobile home in 1986. Mine had a neutral drain and didn't have the tub guard though. I remember I paid $350 for the washer and $300 for the matching electric dryer. They worked very well for many years and were still going strong when I sold the...

What to charge if you do someone's laundry?

DON"T DO IT!!!! I speak from personal experience. I did this for a while when the gourmet food store and cater I was working for was having a hard time financially. I would do 2 loads a week of aprons and kitchen towels /bar wipes. I charged them $30 a week. Its not that I minded doing it...

So, what do you choose not to do around the house? Why?

I didn't become "handy" until later in life. I was never into tearing things apart when I was a kid. I lost my father at 7 so I never really had the exposure to fixing things. However, during those early years, I learned all there is to know about housekeeping, cooking, and baking from my mom...

    Lawnmower advice needed.

Do NOT buy a new Toro, the one that was highly rated by Consumers Reports. It is simply the worst lawn mower I have ever had. The "sure start" should be called "eventually starts" after about 10 - 15 pulls. So much debris bounces out of the bottom when bagging that I have to move the cars out...
