    A Westinghouse Frost free from the early 50s, while totally unlike a new unit, was reliable and not a energy hog, When they went to fans and heaters etc in the late 50s then you had a boat anchor personally i wouldnt trade a manual defrost for a truckload of brand new frost free fridges

    The big issue Was the noise, you really can not imagine how noisy they were and they were 1725 rpm motors you would think they would be quiet, but they sound like a cross between a chainsaw and garbage disposall.

    Probably The best overall gas range ever made, these are much better insulated than any range ever built, their claim to fame was Cooks with the gas OFF, Yoy cooked so many minutes with the gas on then turned it off, Dampers closed off all vents so the oven held the heat for literally hours...
