When did GE start to go bad?

hate to veer away from original subject,but... ..you will get some heavy metal guitar if you find a single speed filterflo with worn clutch shoes :) More on subject is the background vibration of a filterflo from the way the clutch yoke is clamped to the motor shaft with a u-bolt-usually there...

    2005 GE Nautilus dishwasher

back in storage... i placed this machine back in storage because of the meh wash performance that was mostly because missing insulation blanket and lower wattage heater could not keep water hot and yibs not filtered. So simple it is probably reliable though.

PSC/centrifugal A Wellington brand PSC motor with rotor fins for cooling-the pump is straight radial flow centrifugal.I will note the low water pump sound next time i run the machine.

Wash pump strainer found this has a fine screen strainer for the wash water-very similar to a Bosch. The wash pump runs quiet with no distinctive sound, the PM wet rotor drain pump is typically noisy.

    Bowling alley machinery 1950s-60s...

Youtube vids found lots of youtube videos of vintage pinsetters in action-the Japanese one that i fixed the old 1960s Toshiba motor for may have been a Brunswick A-2:seems many of this model are US made, but for whatever reason there are a lot of Japanese ones too.The Brunswick A-2 came out in...

When did GE start to go bad?

it is a cinderblock with 2 notches so it can bolt to the motor/transmission frame opposite the motor to counterbalance the motor-i think the cinderblock started about 1968,before that the weight was a black cylinder that may have been filled with concrete.I have saved these cinderblocks from...

    Modern Whirlpool washers SUCK

Roper VMW With all this VMW talk, remembered i have had ~2020 Roper in storage for about 4 years that i have not checked out-guy said it "did not work right"-might pull it out see what happens :) this washer has an "agipeller"usuall center post, but shallow fins.

Frigidaire Agi Tub Washer Laundry Center

Not much out there. I looked around and could not find much either-found one agitation video-looked like a fairly fast ~170* stroke.Have only seen two of these in person-one at the dump in 1983,another at a used shop in 1990,sold in about a day...

"skinny mini"? Do you mean the 1970-79 GM agitub?-initially i thought you meant the "immersion care"agitub machines, but those are "delux" era. :)

    Thermador brand question

I dumpster-dived a 1978 Thermador dishwasher back in 1987-it had stainless interior, but seemed pretty average. It had an axial-flow wash pump,so might have been on the noisy side.

    Modern Whirlpool washers SUCK

non-servicable transmission you are right on that-i tried to fix a bad bearing one once-drilled out the stamp-rivit things and discovered the bearings crimped in place and stamped frame too thin to do much with.

    Bowling alley machinery 1950s-60s...

...pinsetters,ball returns :) Used to get motors from these in the shop for repair: one alley brought in Century brand motors made in 1958,another 1964 vintage GE motors,a third alley had early 1960s British machines and also same era Japanese-the Japanese had Toshiba motors of 1950s design,but...

    Modern Whirlpool washers SUCK

my experience... ...is a 2010 VMW Bravos-a reverse bloom washplate machine-it actually does a good wash performance IF load size is just right :)I hate the goofy rebalance routine this thing can get stuck in: drain-spin attempt-fill-agitate-drain-spin attempt before default to slow spin.I have...

Frigidaire Agi Tub Washer Laundry Center

    Junked a 2011 Hydrowave

hard to say- -filter flo oil has always been contaminated when I had one apart-always with iron particulate, sometimes a little water also.

Dead,FUBAR 2011 Hydrowve... ...did cough up some good parts so another may rise from the dead :)

    Junked a 2011 Hydrowave

HW and T models HW is greased ball bearings and sintered iron upper bushing-no gears in this design. T model is greased ball bearings and the transmission has a medium weight oil-tranny internals are all iron and since the helix clutch and the brake are external on a T vs internal on a filter...

    Junked a 2011 Hydrowave

fried out motor inverter. The motor inverter on a Hydrowave is always powered when the washer is plugged in-a blinking LED can be seen on it.

    18"Danby DW

Works great washed a load of intentionally very nasty dirty dishes including cat bowls that sat out all winter-all came out clean :) a major part of the good results are long wash times(did not note time, but will next run)

    Junked a 2011 Hydrowave

no agitub action here... tub does work correctly on mine-disengaged from agitator and locked. The long stroke agitation and water currents generated are very similar to a TR SQ-the Hydrowave does not have the motor power or stout enough belt to occillate the basket with the agitator like the...
