I love towels dried in the line. I like them scratchy and they dry better. But I don't have a line. My mother finally took hers down a few years ago too because it's simply more convenient to put everything in the gas dryer.

Ditto that with the exception of my grandmother's cast iron cookware...and it never gets "washed" anyway. And nothing sticks in it.

Don't forget staber washers here in the US. But I have zero experience with them nor do I know anyone who owns or has used one. www.staber.com

I have a brother server I use mostly when I make scrub tops because it gives a professional look to the seams. Coworkers are amazed to find out I made them instead of buying them.

I am curious too as I have the same washer but not the problem. I don't know what I will do when it decides to die because I love it and the fact it's a 240v machine.

I'm partial to Miele. I got mine lightly used and it's been awesome.

We've had both and prefer gas. My mom just had the option to go back to electric as she was replacing her Maytag stack with a WP Stack and both fuels are available in the closet but she stuck with gas also. For us it is faster than electric. My GE dries perfect almost every time on low setting...

I like sleeping in a cold room snuggled under nice quilts.. But I have a waterbed so it is heated nicely. My bedroom vent is the second one right off the main furnace duct so it gets a little stuffy in there in the winter so I have a tendency to partially close that vent when the heat is being used.

Big machines won't fit in my laundry closet either. I have to use smaller machines like Miele, asko, Bosch, or perhaps the LG model that's smaller, or even Electrolux. I hope I don't have to deal with it for a while.  Neither my Miele nor the Asko have any issues with sagging glass doors and...

64!? Oh heck no, I couldn't handle that. We keep ours on 72 in winter and that's a chilly compromise as I always kept it on 74 til Tony started andropause having hot flashes.  I absolutely forbid him to go colder than 72. He just has to take off some layers if he's too hot. I too use a heating...

When I did my w1986 springs I used a car scissor jack and a piece of wood under the drum to lift it while I alone changed the springs. Didn't take me long. I don't know how the w1926 compares in size.

We use the plastic bags from Walmart and such for waste baskets. My compactor only gets dry trash, anything wet , bloody, or smelly goes straight to the curb. I got rid of most of my plastic storage containers in favor of Pyrex. Still keep a couple of larger ones for pizza leftovers or cookies...

Gain used to make me itch about thirty-five years ago, mostly around my waist and torso, but that was back with Mom's GE filter flo washer. I've used it in recent years without incident but my fl washers rinse much better with multiple rinse.

I would do it if i could make a decent living at it these days but it's all disposable now. It would have to pay VERY well to compare to my nursing salary though...
