New to me - Hotpoint drop in oven

My sister had that kitchen with a turquois confetti counter top, and a white 40 inch GE P7 range. It served it's purpose since 1956, and is gone as of spring, replaced by modern updates. Granite, high quality solid cherry, and black stainless or graphite LG screen fridge, convection/induction...

    Driving Miss Daisy cars

The blue Cadillac they were in when the temple was bombed had a flat accross dash like a '65 or '66. No cluster hump like a '64, no angular breakfront like a '67, '68, or '70, and no rear door beltline up sweep like a '67.

My parent's 1967 Coldspot (Whirlpool) compressor died while still within the 4 year parts warranty. It was rare, but did occur.

    Grocery Shopping in 1971

Our stores played "Musac" taped easy listening and top 40 instrumentals in the 70's, and 80's. By 1991 we had sattelite music with all varieties of channels. I'd walk into stores early mornings and hear Howard Stearn as the night crew was finishing up, or acid rock. I remember one D.M...

Persil "Pro Clean" Sensitive Amazon Prime Special

I bought a 100 fl. oz. U.S. of Persil Oxy pro-clean last week for $13.99 with a $2.00 coupon on the jug. Regular price last year or so was $11.99.

    The Laundry Alternative Poseidon folds?

$170 U.S. on Amazon Prime. My concern would be how many fold dowms and set ups it can take before a seam cracks. Otherwise, it's fine for two medium weight, or three to five light garments.

    Grocery Shopping in 1971

Kohl's supermarkets were an A&P banner since the 1990's at least. I don't think they were ever part of the Dept. stores.

    Sloppy Customers

Sarah, yes, I agree about being a psotive influence, and we do what we can, but they are not our children. We surely didn't raise the parent like that. Unfortunately it's the peer pressures of the 90's and beyond which has created this ideology. Many parents were so caught up in keeping up...

    Sloppy Customers

We see it in our own grandson. So he's only 5, but he throws things at his older sister, still writes on walls, etc. No consequences or disciplineary action. Sibling rivalry? He's "sensitive" they say. Bull! He rarely offers an I'm sorry to her. She doesn't want to hit him back, but that's...

The new plastic Rainbow is much lighter than the old chrome domes were. I've demo'd one and it wasn't difficult with water in it.

If Forced To Choose Only One Modern Major Appliance

A central Vac system I have one, but it's great! No bags, less dust in the house because what gets past the filter all gets exhausted outside. I empry it and clean the filter witha dry brush twice per year. Otherwise a Miele S8 unique.
