To me it looks to be like one of the first solid state New Vista's, notice the little metal tag on the upper right hand corner that was usually the solid state symbol, and by the handle on top of the unit it looks like RCA Victor, with the little meatball & Nipper icon.

Is it just as easy to take apart a 27in with a access panel? Do you have to take that neck piece off that connects to the lint filter area to get to the belt and remove the drum if needed?

29 vs 27 in Whirlpool dryers, It has always seemed people favor the top lint screen 29's as more reliable than the front screen 27's, can someone explain the difference? Are they harder to service, not as good design?

Not too long after Whirlpool purchased Maytag they also did a limited edition model, however it wasn't bad, it had that copper look kick plate on fronts of the washer & dryer and had the same copper (gold-tone) color on the control panel.
