Did finish discontinue the orange gel?

Since returning back to PowerClean based dishwashers (a KUDC23 and KUDS25) I too have had issues with coffee stains. I found that (at least with my local water) Finish Quantum pacs worked the best, when combined with another powder detergent in the prewash, and using Sani-Rinse on KUDS25...

Agiflow I partly agree with you. It sort of seems like Whirlpool is a very siloed business now. Their dishwashers they have now, which came out a few years ago, are on an excellent platform. It's a larger tub, with a lot of refinement from the Global Wash platform. Reviews and quality still...

Black Plastic Kitchen Utensils & Food Containers May Contain Toxic Chemical

The regulatory structure in the US is 180 degrees from the EU. In the US, as long as (and sometimes not) products contain pre-approved or other ingredients “generally assumed as safe,” they do not need to be tested in the US. Unless they are Class 1 medical devices. Otherwise it’s “free...

    EPA Reversals

The reason nothing will change with dishwashers is because they don't need to. Years of R&D have already gone into washing dishes with just a couple gallons of water. All the cycle programming has already been created. The supply chains are already established with various motor manufacturers...

Chet and Jerome “This whole thread, what you’ve said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I’ve ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened...

Jerome. What you don’t understand about machines is that if you’re smelling gear oil there is a PROBLEM. These are supposed to be sealed systems that fluids don’t leak from. These smell of oil is only from LEAKS. You two goobers, with smelly machines and tubs smacking cabinets, must have...

Is the Model T in the room with you right now? Once things for sure. With our new HHS secretary, maybe I can get the same hallucinogens Chet and Jerome are on, and I too can hear gears and smell oil everywhere too!

And sludge buildup, if you never do washer cleaning, is an issue on any rib reinforced plastic tub. Not just the GEs. The first thing I do when I get a new place is do TWO washer cleaning cycles. One with Affresh and the 2nd with bleach. Works every time.

YOU just didn’t like it. Doesn’t mean it didn’t do its job. And joke’s on you they sold millions them. They got their money. I never had those buildup issues in the rental Ts. You’re doing your laundry wrong then.

Nope. Wrong wrong wrong. I had two apartments that had T model washers and they were fine. They were both at least 5yrs old. NO OIL SMELL. WHY WOULD THERE BE OIL SMELL?! T washers didn’t leak and seep like the NASTY rubber boots in FilterFlos! My grandparents had a FF and it STUNK UP their...

“My personal preference: Drive the drain pump via a half horse power motor.” This is what you said. I would only agree if yes, you’re driving the whole machine with one motor. But you said to drive the drain pump. That’s silly.

I want to know! Lmaooo this obsession with oil. Well guess what, you’re NOT gonna know. You’ll have to find an old GE engineer from the project. From the mid 90s. Good luck with that. They’re all retired or probably dead. Drain pumps at 1/2 hp? What a colossal waste of energy, weight...

Enlightened PUHHLEEEZE Nobody out there that has a full functioning modern dishwasher is complaining about it. My mom did at first when their new GE took 3hrs to wash. But all the new machines are 1.5-2 times larger than old ones”fast” standard tub machines. And everyone’s dishes are clean...

Frigidaire Dishwasher OrbitClean Spray Arm Issue

Heh, forgive me for chuckling about this but your dad who insisted it must be the same design, is ok with a generic, non-oem part? Ok….. Who knows! The quality on the oem orbit arms is so spotty, this generic might outlast the old one!

    Comparing Available Powder Detergents

Michaelz Did Elmhurst used to be on any municipal well water at that time? That would make the most sense since northern Illinois well ground water is typically 20-40! grains per gallon of hardness. And Lake Michigan water is around 8-12 grains. They could’ve made a lake water switch over...

    Comparing Available Powder Detergents

NICE, your 2nd hard water rankings basically match my experience. When I stopped using pods, I got more consistent results when going back and forth between Cascade Complete and Seventh Generation. It's important to consider what John says, about varying results. In one aspect, I find it...
