Frigidaire Dishwasher OrbitClean Spray Arm Issue

Oh my, I don't know why they keep making that silly OrbitClean arm. Electrolux is frustrating. I have their washer/dryer left over from previous homeowners, and they're actually amazing machines. A friend of mine swears by her Elux washer/dryer set. The microwave over the range I got a couple...

    Comparing Available Powder Detergents

Seventh Generation has really improved over the last few years. It has worked exceptionally well in both my current Chicago tap water, and my past softened well water. Cascade Complete is my 2nd runner up and I’ll still get that when I can find it. Most stores around me now only have 1 spot...

    Countertop Dishwashers

They’re all pretty much made by the same Chinese factory. So you could just get the one that has the features you need for the price. Danby is a leading brand. I’ve heard good reviews about the Farberware brand too.

    2024 Holiday dish load!

Christmas dinner dish load 1. KUDS25. Not quite a Bobload, I wanted to keep some water circulation space. 19 guests. Normal wash, Cascade Complete powder. Squeaky clean in the end. Happy holidays to all! Onward to 2025.

I really like the look of the new Whirlpool Front Loaders

#64 Mark You could be very right. The soap residue could still be in some clothes, just not with the evidence of suds whipped up by recirculation. It's hard to say though without a comparative study. And I do enough of those at work LOL, so I'll continue to just select Extra Rinse.

    GE Dishwasher filter question

As the past owner of a filter-cup GE machine, a KA filter-cup machine, and my parents had the GE filter-cup machine also. One common theme is that GE dishwashers are not very good at "self cleaning" their filter cups. But here are the differences: - My GE was in my house with a water softener...

    AI in laundry...

Honestly this stuff in appliances, at least for the time being, is just extra fancy "fuzzy logic" algorithms. True AI needs many more inputs than what current companies are putting in their machines, as far as sensors go. If they're to get real AI to work, they need a way to "see" the dirty...

I really like the look of the new Whirlpool Front Loaders

Count me in as someone who really likes their Elux laundry pair. The washer has been running strong for 7 years now, since the w/d set came with the house. All three pumps work just fine. I won't say I "love" the Elux sets, that's a strong term. But they are excellent, and I do think they're...

Dumb Question, But Does Anyone Know?

Since Whirlpool doesn't make the majority of their parts themselves, that could be an indicator from the molding company, that the part is for Whirlpool Corporation. Like earlier stated. But since that would be for the molding company's own sorting, I'm surprised they put it so close to the WP...

I really like the look of the new Whirlpool Front Loaders

Whirlpool corporate has been particularly terrible in documentation the past several years. On all their appliances. There must’ve been a changing of the guard in the technical documents dept, with deep cost cutting. Many are even riddled with typos or errors from what I’ve seen.

    New Dishwasher: GE GPT225SGLWW Portable

Individual parts and raw materials are also subject to import tariffs. I’ve had to fill out forms for them before. But the rates are likely different.

    New Dishwasher: GE GPT225SGLWW Portable

For the past decade or so, traditional brands have farmed out their portable dishwashers and ADA compliant units, to China sourced models. The dead giveaway is the rear bump out with the external upper water feed. I don’t know who makes all these. Midea? Candy? Haier? Nevertheless they’ve...

The greatest thing since sliced bread?

#9 Uhhm, what???? That's how you get melted wax on your food. But you do you boo. Better than melted plastic in food i guess...

What's Your Floorcare Routine? Mop and bucket? Swiffer? Broom?

The Robot Age! Slightly off-topic, but I've been following robot vacuum products for a few years now, and I myself just got a 2nd Roomba for the basement (1000sq. ft. finished). Both are J7 models with the obstacle detecting camera. Upstairs unit has the self-empty base. They are....AWESOME...

Time for a new front loader...

PureRinse Interesting. Because WasherTester has a 'PureRinse' Elux, and it definitely did 3 rinses. RevvinKevin, if your Elux is really only doing 1 rinse....all I can think of is, Elux got really really stingy with rinsing in the last year? (is your machine brand new like within the last...

all original 1970s home set to be demolished

OH gosh lol. We had those exact same yellow curtains in the livingroom of the house I grew up in. I wasn't a fan of them then, nor watching this. Ha.

    Detergent choices

Lead balloon incoming lol I've been using these products for the last few years with really good results: https://tinyurl.com/Care-RenewLD This detergent is one of the few left I've found that includes 'cellulase' to help prevent and break down pilling on organic fabrics. Been using this for...

    Anyone longing for the 1970's?

Phwwww! Reminds me ofthe house I grew up in. SO much brown. Dark beams, psychodelic wallpaper (though ours wasn't too crazy). Lots of roof leaks....

Need recommendations on front load washer

#25 Well those were never stainless steel braided to begin with. Those are clearly just "gray" nylon weaved. You can tell which ones are stainless wrapped. They're metallic feeling and shiny. Even the stainless wrapped hoses are still rubber inside. The nylon and stainless wrapping is to...

    New Whirlpool Front Load Washers

They look nice. More substantial than the current lineup. Although I think I see the plastic door window sticking around. Deal killer for me.
