    KitchenAid KDI-17A

After the motor stops, if you hit the Cancel/Drain button, does the motor restart and drain the dishwasher while the timer rapid advances? If not, but only the timer rapid advances to the off position, can you immediately restart the Normal wash cycle and get the motor to run again? Have you...

    KDS-19 trouble - parts - help?

Did you take the actual detergent dispenser doors out and clean the shafts and the openings where they pass through the door? Also, it's probably not a bad idea to change the two o-rings for the doors, as this is very easy to do. The link below is a thread I wrote when I changed them in my...

    Hi Everyone

Happy New Year TwinTubber, good to see you back! Just had my 0519 out last week doing a couple loads of towels. Noticed a little bit of water underneath after I was done... hopefully nothing serious. Will have to investigate the next time I use it.

    KDS-58 Power issue

The water heater shouldn't come on as soon as you latch the handle... you would have to press the Soak and Scrub button first. You should be able to do a Cancel Drain without having the water heater come on at all. Sounds to me like something else is wrong... possibly timer or short somewhere...

    1959 Kenmore - Restoration

Very interesting 1st Gen Permanent Press... thanks for posting! One thing I noticed is that at the 8:43 mark of the first video, as the first spin is being engaged, the timer switches the motor from fast to slow without there being any break between the two speeds. That is the first time I've...

    Filter Flo

Yogitunes, I was going to say if this was Facebook, I'd click on the "Like" button to like your post, but I see that there is a way to do so built into the forums! Never noticed that before. :-)

    Kenmore Pernament Press Oddities

Question about the third version... was the pause achieved by the timer switching the motor power to a contact that was energized for only a portion of the two minute increment, or by the pressure switch cutting power to the motor once enough water had drained, but no power being sent to the...

    Kenmore Pernament Press Oddities

Ack... sorry Tom, I misread your post. I see that you were talking about your 58. So I wonder what year that all changed and the drain/agitation switched to slow speed during cool down?

    Kenmore Pernament Press Oddities

Not all machines drained using the motor's high speed during the cool down portion. I remember my mom's mid 70's Kenmore dropped down to slow speed when the cool down portion of the cycle started, started to drain, then resumed agitating and filling on slow speed. The motor would only switch...

    what washer do YOU like?

That is a beautiful set of Kenmores you have there pierreandreply4. I'd love to own a Canadian belt drive Kenmore washer of that vintage someday.

    whats wrong with this dishwasher?

Still disagree. :-) With these dishwashers, the way the pump is designed, once they have enough water, they are able to bleed all of the air out of them very quickly and pump only water. The "surging" at the beginning of the video is the pump trying to get rid of the air... as filling...

    whats wrong with this dishwasher?

I agree with whirlykenmore78... I don't believe it is underfilling. You can see as the pump is priming there is water being pushed up the center post intermittently into the upper arm, which causes it to turn slightly with each pulse. Then I think once the pump is primed the water continues to...

    whats wrong with this dishwasher?

Pretty sure something in the top rack is sticking down and stopping the arm from turning. Have an Inglis dishwasher with the same washing system that I don't use anymore, as I always found it left food bits all over my cereal bowls. Not sure if it due to the constant rinse arm on my KDS-58...

    Filter-Flow advice

The dryer end of cycle buzzer behavior you are describing sounds normal... at least that's how my GE dryer's buzzer works. I think it is meant to go off before the end of the cycle so that the operator can remove the clothes before the dryer stops and wrinkles have a chance to set in. Does...

    Hoover Twin Tub fill hose

Sorry, need to do some cleaning first before I can take pictures, but if you really want pics... I'll see what I can do. :-)

    Hoover Twin Tub fill hose

THANK YOU YOGITUNES! I received the coupler in the mail yesterday, and tried it out today. The female end snaps on perfectly to my existing aerator, so I got a laundry hose and cut one end off, and screwed the other end onto the coupler. It is a little loose fitting pushing the hose end into...

    Hoover Twin Tub fill hose

Thanks Yogitunes... that looks like it will fit perfectly! I've order one, and will let everyone know my results when it arrives.

    Hoover Twin Tub fill hose

I actually did take my aerator adapter with me, and nothing they had would fit onto it. I could have got a different adapter, but then depending on which appliance I wanted to use, I would have had to screw in the appropriate aerator into my faucet.

    Hoover Twin Tub fill hose

Well, I haven't had any luck finding anything that would work for what I want to do. Yogitunes, I found the adapter you pictured in reply #6, but it won't snap to my aerator on my sink. My aerator is like the one linked below. So it looks like my best bet would be to find an actual unicouple...
