Nice set. Our second dryer was the Whirlpool Imperial Seventy which had the super capacity drum, but with the slightly smaller door. Glad you got the washer to work.

That second dryer is also from 1966, but one model down - the 800.

One other difference between the 1964 70 and 63 600 was that the 70 had the infinite water level selector, while the 600 had 3 designated levels where you could not set the selector between. It really offered no advantage as the tubs were not large enough where there was much height difference...

It would be cool if there is a dial light. If not, it would be one of very few model 70s from the 1960s that doesn't. I believe the only other models that don't have lights are from 1960 (maybe), and 1962.

You are correct. This is a 1964 model 70 series, and it looks like its in great condition. Definitely contact the owner; you don't see too many of these appear.

Interesting. This is an 800 series washer for 1970, yet the interior is the same as what was in the 600 series that year.

That had to be it. Our 1986 Whirlpool Imperial Seventy dryer had the same whistle when the lint filter was full. It was a source of amusement at first. "Isn't this dryer funny? It toots." was said several times during the first week after we got it.

If the trim is shiny chrome, that is an A207. If not, than an A206 - my childhood washer.

The washer must be a 407. Three temp buttons, three speed buttons, 4 level buttons. Perhaps one of the last issued.

My sister had this model in her guest house. I'm not sure of the year, but it had the center dial, and neutral drain method of emptying out the water.
