    1962 WHIRLPOOL WASHER

My grandmother had the 24 inch model just like this. Only difference aside of the width was there was no water level control. A neighbor across the street from me had a 29 inch version identical to this one, but it was a later model with the shorter lid handle.

    Kenmore Dryer

Yes, 1963 is the correct year. This console will give off a great light show in the dark.

    Amana washer/dryer

I would guess around 1987/88. Not long after, the Amanas were featured with back opening lids like Speed Queens IIRC correctly.

    Kenmore 500 Dryer

1969 model. Too bad no matching washer with it.

Looking for A 70's GE Filter Flo Washer In NY/NJ

Dryer next to Americana washer: We had that exact model dryer from 1969 to 1986. Only differences were that it was white, and gas.

    So How About This Kenmore?

Model Numbers Up until 1973 or 1974, the first and second digits following the 110. indicated the model year. Thereafter, it was the first and third, so the model number on this washer should read 110.724... I am drawing a blank on what the 2 signified, but it was the second digit on pretty...

    Speed Queen commercial

The dryer looks like the same model Kenmore we had from Sept 2003 - Sept 2004 when we moved from NY to CT. That should have a drum light.

    So How About This Kenmore?

My aunt and uncle had the matching dryer in electric from Spring of 1974 until the summer of 1995. With the pilot light above the dial, as well as the drum light, I thought it was one of the coolest dryers I had ever seen as a kid. More than anything I loved the sound of its motor, especially...

    1970 GE pair

We had a more mid-line 1969 dryer for 17 years. Had the same cycles and temps/speeds and a buzzer on/off switch next to the dial.

Vintage Finds Online: Part Thirty One

Westinghouse Stand Fan Wow, my parents bought that fan back in the early 1960s, and we had it for over 40 years. Had 2 speeds and worked great. Hope someone gives it a good home.

    Liquid Bottles on Kenmore Dryers

Wow that must have been the source of the great scent that gently blew from my next door neighbor's dryer vent while I was growing up. They had a 1966 800 Kenmore set, and the aroma was heavenly. It was the perfect compliment to the equally heavenly whir of the dryer motor, which had a steady...

    What Vintage Is This Whirlpool?

    Early 70s. I think 1971-1972 vintage.

Speed Queen Industrial Washing Machine / Dryer Combo - $200

Likely yes it is, since it has that front access panel. Electric dryers don't usually have them.

    Vintage Laundromats

In my hometown growing up, we had 3 laundromats within a 2 mile span. The one at the north end of town had all 1970s Maytags. The one right near my house had all Zanussi front loaders, and my mother used to go there to wash our large bathroom rug. These were replaced by Wascomat front loaders...

    De-linting a 1976 Sears Dryer

It was around 1973 or 74 when the arrangement of the digits changed. It then became the first and third digits that coded the model year, which on your model are 7 and 4 respectively. Thus, it a 1974 model.

    1970 Maytag A206/306 Set

That was the washer I had growing up. Hopefully it and its dryer mate will find a good home. Good luck, James

    Avocado GE Dryer

From the looks of it, that is the model we had until I was 15 years old. Ours was white, and a gas model which gave us no problems until the motor finally burned out. Hope it finds a good home.

    Whirlpool!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new find. Although not your childhood washer, this is quite the consolation prize. Best of luck and enjoyment with it. Have a good one, James

    WP Washer On The Cape

More like 1967 or 1968. Has the shorter lid handle, and although I may have missed it, I don't see the RCA lettering.

    Score! Turquoise & Lights

My aunt had a 1968 Imperial model in Coppertone with the same arched lens. Hers lit up, and looked great in a dark room.
