    Filter Queen Vacuum Cleaners

I love the pic of Dave drying his hair!   Wouldn't it be great to have a hair dryer contest with the Filter Queen vs. a "flocker" Norge clothes dryer with the hair dryer accessory we see every so often in the POD?

    Laundry artwork...

That's adorable!   Now Yogitunes will probably come up with another kind of bear doing laundry, but that'll have to be posted in the Dirty Laundry forum, lol.

    "mini split"A/Cs

Paul . . . Assuming the house in question is 100 years old it must be on a raised foundation rather than a slab and almost certainly has an attic so it should be possible to locate HVAC equipment in those locations. I've seen old homes retrofitted with package units outside ducted under the...

    My Laundry/Dishwashing center!

Very nice . . . This gives extra room for clothes folding too, a great thing to have with a top loader. I love that dryer, IMO this generation of Kenmore was one of the most attractive ever. Now that you have both clothes and dish washing in the same space you really need a Thor Automagic too...

    Zenith B/W TV

Set in his ways . . . My dad is 84 and to this day claims he prefers B & W to color. Of course they haven't had a dedicated B & W TV for decades so he has to make do with watching old B & W movies and shows though he does admit color is kind of nice for musicals, LOL. He takes after his parents...

My 'new' tv from 1960 or 1961

twintub . . . Guess my urban legend has some truth in it! Great story about the "Magnavox" service guys, I wonder how many stores got hit by that ruse.   As an architect I always associate the term "roach coach" with those mobile food trucks that rotate around to various construction sites...

My 'new' tv from 1960 or 1961

Paul . . . My thoughts exactly, maybe she's wearing a heavily padded bra that makes the picture tube bell less uncomfortable. Still doesn't explain how she can so easily lift a luggable table model TV, especially with no handles.   There is an urban legend I've heard more than once about a...

    Philco double hinged V handle

I love the exterior color on that GE! Is it original?

    So Close, Yet So Far.....

My Two Cents . . . If you are really, really set on this one specific box then you should go get it. Paint can be fixed fairly easily by any autobody shop, particularly in white. However interior plastics and missing shelves are quite another matter and this one looks complete and whole. If it...

Open the box and show him what he's won!

Way too small to hold an Apex Wash-A-Matic . . .

A time capsule opened and look what was inside...

Ford would unquestionably appreciate it if everyone would Focus, but I suspect the bolt down Kenmore would more likely fit inside the Country Squire . . .   Hopefully the Kenmore will find a good home, it would be such a cool addition to a Kenmore collection. I wonder how its performance...

A time capsule opened and look what was inside...

It’s probably good the Fury doesn’t have a high performance 440. If it did I’d guess it would be bought by someone for part-out purposes to get the engine, tranny and rear end and create a 440 Satellite, Coronet, Challenger or Barracuda. The Fury is a rather less exciting and valuable car but...

    Dumb question

When I was a kid I always thought that one of the best parts of owning a coin-operated laundry would be making the decision whether to call it a "Laundromat" or a "Washateria". We actually had neighbors who owned a small chain, can't recall what they called theirs but they did have a lovely and...

With this heat in Arizona, I'm trying to stay cool.

What a beauty . . . I'd be tempted to attach some streamers to the grille for that showroom look!

My Lady Kenmore 1960 Gas Dryer is Finally Here

Totally Cool . . . I love the big buttons too! Thanks for posting the large pics of the lint bag, a very interesting solution to lint filters.

    Polyester (1981)

Polyester Vomit Scene John Waters is famous for vomit scenes, IMO this is one of his best. It doesn’t occur at the AA meeting but in a very fancy dress shop where Cuddles is trying on clothes - she utters “damn that Halston!” when she rips a too-small dress trying to squeeze it over her ample...
