    Westinghouse Slant front washer

Amazingly… It appears to work. It tumbles, it shifted into spin. I think all it needs a a boot and a paint job.

    Westinghouse Slant front washer

Potentially I don’t know of any source and I’ve got too many machines as it is.

    Westinghouse Slant front washer

Have had this machine for several years. Door boot is rotted but otherwise I believe this machine works. It energizes, solenoids work, it shifts into spin. I’ll never find a boot so hoping someone will want it for parts. Otherwise, it’ll go to the scrapper.

1968 GE Programmed Washer and Dryer

These were posted for scrap for free. Since I had the frigidaires and trailer, figured I’d scoop these up on the way home. Worst case is they’re junk and I save parts off of them. That seems to be the case here. Would have been fun to save but they’ve been outside way too long. Washer does not...

1959 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Set Mayfair Pink

These had been posted for a while in the Seattle area. I negotiated down to a reasonable sale price and got them home. They appear very clean and in excellent condition. Mechanically had no idea but assumed probably not going to work on the first go. Gave them a quick try. Washer fill valves...

    Free GE's

Worst case… They end up being parts donors. We will see. My transmission in my 1970 FF decided to leak oil from the upper seal so I’ve got some work to do.

    Free GE's

Repairguy Haha they are calling out “Help! Help!” I did reach out to the owner. Someone before me was wanting to scrap them and she would rather they be saved as they were her great grandmother’s machines. She will send interior shots later today. She said they’re intact but rusty so I...

The Longest Lasting And Most Durable Dishwasher Pump And Motor Ever Made

I was actually interested in the dishwasher discussion but all this other infighting reminds me of why I’ve stopped coming to this site as much as I used to. I don’t get it.

GE start of normal agitation delay

Clutch shift This 1970 GE got its clutch rebuilt. It was pretty much frozen. It has a nice lengthy slow agitation before shifting and I love that. During the spin, if you listen closely, you’ll hear it shift then as well.

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

Finished product Hands down this machine is a beast. Absolute struggle getting the spin tube in a sweet spot within the center post that would allow it to spin. I finally got it seated as best as possible. Spin is slow to start but once it grabs it’s good to go. The machine is rust proof and...

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

More progress Since everyone has probably seen the underside of these machines a million times, I skipped the step-by-step on replacing the motor, transmission, and pump assemblies. Thankfully all of those went back in without any major issues. The outer tub was next to be reinstalled. I...

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

Finally making some progress This has taken forever mostly due to waiting for the new center post to be done. Now we finally have some hotter weather and I had the time so I began rebuilding. The plastic tub is actually in really great shape. It’s not brittle at all and, with a little soap and...

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

Not stainless They only had steel so this post will get coated with POR-15 before water hits it. They based dimensions off of the pieces of original post as well as the insert that comes with the bearing replacement kits. The original posts are held by a crimped metal piece. This one was banded...

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

Finally! After 9 months of waiting and two machine shops, I have a new center post for this machine! I never knew how hard it would be to find a shop willing to take this on but I’m very happy it’s done and can finally start the rebuild!

Great appliances out there Not a 1-18 washer though. It’s a WCI.

    Which dishwasher gel to use?

Cascade Complete powder Cascade complete powder seems to be the best for the 1990 KUDS22. Pods suds up badly in that machine and the wash cycles are too short for them to be effective. I’ve tried the gels and they do ok. Honestly, even the Wal-Mart Great Value powder did pretty well in the...

Who would be interested in getting new Maytag pitman agitator shafts?

I’d be interested I only have one Maytag, a 1970 Model 806. Never know when I might need the parts.

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

KUDS22 TBH, my machine does better than I expected. I don’t prerinse and the only stuff I’ve ever had to rewash have been things like stuck on fried egg on a pan and some melted cheese on a fork. Even without the second final rinse things clean up nicely. It was an NOS machine so I was gonna...
