    An E-bay treasure trove…

John I am definitely in the market for some parts. My Westinghouse top-loader’s spin bearing has gone bad and seems to have sprung a leak which probably caused the bad bearing. I’ve never done anything to this washer other than change the belt. If you’ve got seals and bearings for this type of...

    3 Speed Hotpoint Washer?

Like the GE dryers… Honestly, no difference between the top two buttons. Both high heat. Both function the same no matter where you set the time.

    3 Speed Hotpoint Washer?

Hmm Interesting that it is badged as a “multi-speed washer” though. Makes me wonder if they paired a two-speed clutch with a two speed motor or something like that. Pretty sure the multi-speed clutches were rather brief in their production due to being problematic.[this post was last edited...

    GE timer

Thanks, Ben! Mine has the little clip on it as well so I’ll be sure to include that. I do have a repair manual with the specific contact placements. I think it’s been posted on here somewhere before but I can always just copy those pages and send them along with the part.

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

Hippiedoll Lighted dial would have been a cool feature and I’m sure they reserved that for Kenmores and higher model Whirlpools. Part of what attracted me to this machine was just how similar it is to the ‘64 Kenmore 70 I picked up a couple of years ago. You can definitely see where Sears got...

Better videos These were just quick iPhone shots to at least get something posted. I have a new HD camera and tripod that I’ll use for full high quality videos in the near future.

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

John Thanks! Seems like a good machine. No need for bearings which is great news and seems to be free of leaks. The tub is definitely quite loose but I believe I could make an adjustment that should help correct that. The ‘64 Kenmore definitely didn’t free-wheel like this machine does. The...

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

Quite brisk 14 minutes of regular agitation typically seems like too much in my opinion especially being a smaller capacity outfitted with a surgilator.

First spin Bearing sound really good. Tub break needs replacing though. Pretty much free wheels to a stop.

    GE timer

Good news I have the part you need in my stash!

    GE timer

Spare parts I have a couple of spare timers so I’m sure I have a stem. I’ve rebuilt a few of these so if you need help rebuilding I would be happy to assist. Gotta keep these classic machines running!

    GE timer

GE timer repair I’ll have to refresh my memory on how these stems attached but you likely had a retaining washer of sorts break off or get dislodged. I’ve never had that happen but I’ve had to replace shrouds in those timers when the teeth are worn down. It’s totally repairable but is like...

Thanks again, John! I need to come for a visit anyways so this will be even more reason to do that.

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

Thanks John! Always love reading your memories associated with machines. This one did fire up just fine. Spin is smooth so no bearing issues I know of. Agitation seemed good. I’ll jump in and give it a good cleaning and make sure there aren’t any problem areas inside. Just need to find a suds...

    1967 Whirlpool Washer

Thanks! Should be a fun little machine. The ‘64 Kenmore and now ‘67 Whirlpool are my two oldest functioning machines. Says a lot about their quality. Never thought I’d see a day when I’d have more Whirlpool-made washers than GE, though!
