Weak spring My 75’ Lady K had the same issue. I swapped out the transmission when I did the tear down and rebuild. Saved the old transmission with plans to rebuild it and replace the weak spring in case I need a good one later on.

I just had the opposite problem Your clutch needs to be adjusted down a bit. There is a nut underneath the yoke that will adjust the yoke up or down. I believe yours is too high and not allowing enough slipping and causing the motor to work too hard. I would try bringing the yoke down a little...

Wish I was closer I’d love to save the machine. I’ve rebuilt a couple of these now and they’re fun machines. If there’s no luck saving it then I’d be interested in some parts at least.

Bigalsf No problem! I misunderstood. One will pop up eventually. My problem is that a machine that has the tub I’d need is probably a machine worth saving so I never end up donating the parts to my others haha
