Question For UK Appliance Engineers - Zanussi washer ZWF14070W1

On some Zanussi's (and probably other makes), a fault with one component can cause the PCB to also fail. In this instance that could've happened. However, if the machine behaves normally apart from ending the wash after 20mins, then it might not be the PCB at all, as PCB faults seem to be abit...

    Zanussi FL812 problems

Update? Was reading this with interest & I wondered what's happening to this machine? Anyone heard from dave323? This would be the same timer fitted to my Z9292T i believe, Tom? Liam.

    Hotpoint VTD20 Banging

7 years tho, Optima..... I'm no modern Hotpoint fan, i think that's pretty evident. However, 7 years for a dryer is pretty decent these days. Might well be easy to repair but if not i certainly wouldn't feel let down with that lifespan. As for replacement, i'd probably avoid Hotpoints new...

    Bish,Bash,Bosch

Confused...... Abit confused that someone would write-off Beko for fridge-freezer fires on models upto 10 years old, yet still consider Hotpoint who have churned out machines that explode mid-spin before their 3rd Birthday. Im not a big Bosch fan, but replacing one with Hotpoint is utter...

Bosch, Siemens, Neff Dishwasher Safety Alert (UK)

One rule for some.... one rule for the others! Its probably because the risk is fire related, but i think it's pretty harsh that Beko & Bosch are issuing or being made to issue notices for appliances dating back as long as 11 years in Beko's case, yet Hoover/Candy & Indeshit get away with...

    Zanussi ZWF16581W

Zanussi will be fine. 9 years from the AEG is a good run. Admitedly though, several cheaper Zanussis of the same era are still working (the XC range) so i do question in hindsight whether AEG is worth the extra money. Short of spending a fortune on a Miele, which themselves seem to be getting...

AEG OKO Lavamat 72640 drain pump

Blockage..... It could ofcourse just be a blockage but i remember you saying a while ago that the pump made loud noises on occasions, which is why i reckon the actual pump it knackered. If it is a blockage then i'd imagine the same outcome with damage to the electronics could be possible from...

AEG OKO Lavamat 72640 drain pump

Im not an engineer but i'd say it's gotta be the pump that's dying. I can't imagine the pump has the capabilities to operate at different speeds so therefore it can't be the electronics telling it to pump more slowly or anything like that. I reckon your best bet would be to get a new pump...

Moulinex.... We've got a Moulinex Iron. A 'Brio 60' brought from Robert Dyas about 2 years ago, it's pretty good & has outlasted our previous two Philips irons. We'd had a few Philips ones & they had been good but after two only lasting 12-18 months each we decided to try something else. Mums...

New machine not without pain! lol.

Paul Hi Paul Yeah still got it. Was there Tuesday doing some bits & pieces for the tenant actually. It's in pretty decent condition, even if not upto my OCD standards! Can't believe it though - i left my new Zanussi Dishwasher there (ZDF511 Progress AAA) & the tenant's never used it in 2.5...

New machine not without pain! lol.

Not branching out yet...... Maybe soon, but for now i'm gonna try & stay living at home as it's alright most of the time. Still got the Zanussi Turbodry 1000 (WDA1055W) & Electrolux Condensor here, with the Zanussi Essential in the garage on standby. My collection consists of: Zanussi FL1012...

Formerly Matsui..... My Gran owns a Matsui Compact Dishwasher, which from what i can tell is the same as the Essentials ones they sell now. Had it for 2 years, used more or less everyday & no problems at all. I was abit worried when she said she'd bought it but after spending a fair bit on a...

    HOTPOINT MICROTRONIC £50

No worries Paul...... I knew who you meant & could see you were in demand trying to reply to everyone seperately, so no bother :) Eeek, that 95842's gonna get abit hot under its microchips if it makes its way to Crewe ;-) Haha no i'm sure it'll be fine, it might aswell get some use as it...

New machine not without pain! lol.

Sweet Talk, definately ;-) Definately sweet talk someone into looking after the WDT for you Darren. If i had my own place i'd do it for you, but at the moment my place is rented out as it's what i bought when i lived in Manchester & i'm having a wicked time (not) living at home - i'm sure you...

New machine not without pain! lol.

Agreed about the Zanussi..... I think you'll live to regret getting rid of that. Whenever other machines have gone faulty you've always had one machine you could rely on, the WDT. Putting all your faith in new machines is a risky deal i reckon! L

The demise of the 1800rpm washing machine...

I won't miss them..... I only realised the other day that Zanussi offered an 1800rpm model, but seen as their bearings struggle to handle 1200 these days, i'd hope some seriously upgraded parts were used otherwise i have very little faith! I find our 10 year old 1000rpm spin Zanussi to spin...

    HOTPOINT MICROTRONIC £50

I wonder.... if the buyer paid the full £50. It did seem abit high given that it'd be tricky or not even possible to repair. Paul - you need to let Rob do one of his occasional boil washes in the 95842, that'll give it a good workout ;-) Liam

    Creass reducing experts wanted!

Listen to Mike! If you wanna get better results with the Heat Pump dryer then listen to what Mike has to say - he explained the concept to me recently & it made more sence than i'm sure most manufacturers instruction manuals do for these machines! It did kinda make me glad to still have access...

    HOTPOINT MICROTRONIC £50

Eek, Alex.... Hi Alex Ive just looked through my inbox & found your email, but i have a facebook contact with a similar name & interpretted the title as one of the several cleverly worded emails i get that, when opened, are just a link which is usually to a virus, so i presumed it was an...
