I have a Rowenta Professional, also about 15 years old, still going strong. I have only used distilled water and it only spits if you pump the steam button too fast. My mom's GE is 40+ years old and still going strong. And she irons every day! Bobby in Boston

So now I ask the experts: Where can I get a new shaft cover, drive hub, and gaskets? I assume I can remove the tub, pull the drive hub off and then the shaft cover without changing or pulling the entire tranny. Anyone willing to offer suggestions? I don't want to see this poor old girl go to the...

I finally get the agitator off. I could have cried. The shaft looks like something rescued from the wreck of the Titanic!

As I'm doing this, I hear someone knocking. I put down the Dremel and head for the front door. As I pass by the GE Filter-Flo, I realize the knock was an unbalanced beach towel that I had thrown in!

I worked at it for over an hour. I have never seen an agitator so frozen onto a shaft. I bet the crazy Youtube washer killer couldn't get this one off!
