Frigidaire FL Failed Bearing Issue: Related to too much suds?

Hello Gene, Yes without doubt the Westinghouse was fitted with a superior seal and bearings. All manufacturers’ use what’s called (Mean Time to Failure) in other words they know exactly how long any component will last and what failures can be expected with any product. All the best. Hugh

Frigidaire FL Failed Bearing Issue: Related to too much suds?

Bearing Failure Hi Folks, I would question that somewhat. I will bring your attention to the wheels on any car; they use bearings and a seal just as a front load washer does, except in a car the stresses involved are many times greater than in any washing machine. So why do car wheel bearings...

    Expert Advice Needed

Hi Robert, I totally agree with you, I personally would never go out of the house and leave any washer or dryer running. I have seen machines over fill before and I am sure if no one was at home the damage this could cause would be extensive. I have also seen tub drain hoses holed by articles...

Thor TH85 - question for UK or Europe members

Servis Hi Mike, Thanks for the Servis picture, my 308S seems very slightly different in the fact it has an electric door release but otherwise it is identical to the one in your pic. I am not in the least surprised that those machines are still running today they were really well made and their...

Thor TH85 - question for UK or Europe members

Hi Jaune, That is pretty typical construction for most front loaders, the majority of front loaders sold in the UK for the past 20 plus years have been made like that and they are generally OK, better quality washers do use Stainless Steel drum spiders though. All the best. Hugh

Thor TH85 - question for UK or Europe members

Hi Darren, I honestly cannot remember how much the connections cost me. I done the plumbing myself so I only had the copper pipe, fittings and valves to buy, along with whatever length 1 ½ inch Bartol waste pipe I needed. I remember it did not cost me much at all but unless you are competent at...
