    Beko tumble dryer DRCS68W

I've heard a few engineers say that Zanussi/AEG condenser dryers are the best out of the cheaper ones. Our Creda is of the old GDA design with the water collector at the bottom and has lasted us 6 years so far without problems. It isn't too noisy either. However, the new Indesit/Hotpoint/Creda...

Now Hotpoint / Indesit machines explode!

I disagree. There should be absolutely no chance of this happening, whether the machine is overloaded or otherwise. The simple fact is that costs have been reduced to the point where safety is becoming an issue and that isn't on. Tom.

    The joys of electric dishwashing

Looks like a great machine Jon. I'm very pleased with our G1222SC even though it has the old style cutlery tray and racks. Tom.

    Electrolux Jetsystem Turbodry

Yes I remember being frustrated by how hard it was to see through the porthole. In that respect my Zanussi Jetsystem is much better. My Gran's must have been one of the last to be built, being bought in late 1990/early 1991. Another thing with these models was that you have to clean out the...

    Electrolux Jetsystem Turbodry

Electrolux WD3000T Hi Rob, My Gran had this model from 1990 until she moved house in 2000. Wonderful machine and extremely rare too. They are based on the last proper well built Zanussi machines. I spent years looking for one on ebay, but I do have the Zanussi Jetystem equivalent to this at...

    Aqualtis AQGD169S bearing and spider?

I think these machines have a welded outer tub, that's why bearings aren't available. Might be time to take advantage of your Hotpoint 5 year parts guarantee. Tom.

    liberator link of clip

Hi Paul. Do you know when production changed from the enamel inner drum to stainless steel? Hi Justmadeit, Yes some parts are still available because the same basic internal design remained the same from 1973 until circa 2000. The backplates were actually used on the 99 series washer dryers...

    liberator link of clip

As far as I know, the backplates for these machines are still available from Hotpoint. Tom.

Purple Hotpoint Liberator... is it this one?

May I add my personal congratulations on finding such a rare machine and in such great condition as well. Tom.

    hotpoint liberator de luxe

Enamel inner drum Wow, this one seems to have the vitreous enamelled inner drum, very rare indeed. I believe they changed to stainless steel in 1976. Tom

    Zannussi Washer

That's an FL1016, the last 1000rpm spin model with the vitreous enamel outer tub and cast iron bearing crosspiece. Good, solid machine made just before Electrolux started cutting costs. Tom.

Tricity Bendix due for its first major repair soon

AW1053 Hi Phil and Darren, It is true that the AW1053 uses the old style cabinet. However, the drum assembly is completely different from that used on earlier machines such as Darren's WDT1061. The WDT1061 has the vitrous enamel outer tub with removable bearing crosspiece at the back. The...

    Appliance Problems

Hi Kyle, Sounds like the Jetsystem pump is wearing out. With regard to the dishwasher, the part is only available as a complete dispenser I'm afraid. Part number 4071358131, price £26.52 if buying direct from Electrolux. Hope that helps, Tom.

    Candy Washer Exploded During Spin!

Cost cutting at the expense of quality and safety Candy were never particularly good machines. A few years ago there were stories of Candy/Hoover tumble dryers catching fire. Now the washing machine drums are flying to pieces. It just goes to show that you can only cut costs and quality...
