I do my mashed either sweet or regular potato with just butter and sour cream with a ricer masher that whips them up good. Sometimes I will add some sprinkle cheese to the mixture and season on the plate. I could eat salad every meal.

Maytag 511 washer developed strange noise

Thanks John, that does make sense. Its funny that the original belt lasted fine for 35 years and this Maytag replacement has already already started making noise after just 5 years. But it still runs great and have no plans to get rid of it for todays junk. Everyone I know that has to have the...

Maytag 511 washer developed strange noise

Excuse me. The pulley on the bottom of the motor where the 2 belts go on was replaced a few years ago.The repair guy showed me that the original was a 2 piece fused that separated and that was the noise before and he replaced it with a solid one piece and noise was solved. Mine is a 1984 model...

The guy that put that motor pulley on looked thru everything, he knew my machine. The replacement parts were in genuine Maytag bags. The replacement belts were Maytag ones and I saved the originals. I dont do alot of wash and wait until a hamper is full and then do a full load about once a week...

Maytag 511 washer developed strange noise

No, several years ago I joined AW when it developed a rat-tat and was immediately helped by members that I had a bad motor coupling. Fortunately, there is an appliance place nearby that knows how to fix older appliances and they replaced the 2 piece motor coupling and put 2 new belts on and it...

Maytag 511 washer developed strange noise

My 40 year old Maytag 511 has started making a squeeling noise only when the spin/drain engages after wash and rinse. But once it ramps up it runs normally. Is this something to be concerned about?

I bought that same Kenmore model in gas in the mid 70's, at a Sears scratch and dent sale and worked fine and ex-wife gave it to her brother who used it for many years after when I bought my Maytag set in 1984 that I am still using now.

Automatic dishwasher detergent that will not dull dishes?

Jerome. will you STOP bringing up these old threads just to say you are the expert on dishwashing in your Kenmore/Bosch and laundry in your Speed Queen. You pay for what you get...

I have had a Whrlpool dishwasher for nearly 30 years now. I dont know or care what wash system it is. I pack it full of dishes and turn the dial on once or twice a week and everything comes out fine the next morning. I always buy a better product that will last, hopefully. 40 years ago I bought...

Your window ACs in use this season.

I have a 1985 8000 btu Frigidaire in my bedroom and so far it has ran 15 nights this summer with this wicked humidity and it still turns the room into meat locker temps, the way I like to sleep. I would much rather have this weather than snow and cold in January any day.

Toyota engine recall:3.4 v6 twin turbo

When were Roper Washers first introduced?

I bought in 1995 and still use daily a Whirlpool branded gas range that works just fine all the time. The instruction packet had an installation guide for an Amana range which somehow was just like mine, but with generic illustrations. But I used to see quite a few Roper Gas stoves as a kid in...
