New To Me - Cuisinart DLC7

Two Cusinarts The DCL X on the left was given to me when friends closed their Bed and Breakfast. It is a beast of a machine. The DCL 7 has been around for close to 25 years. This past summer I walked into a local thrift shop and they had two DCL 7's with disks for $20 each. Bought both for...

    "mini split"A/Cs

In installed 4 Sanyo mini split systems a few years ago. They work great and the important thing is that I can zone the house. If it is pleasant weather but I want the bedroom cooler I can do that. I only have to run the units that I need. With central it's all or nothing. Another reason is that...

Stuff Your Mother Never Made You

Great Discussion No one in the collection of females that I grew up with could really cook. We always had plenty but ... As has been said, open the can and then boil for another 30 min. Gray lamb. Pork chops that you could drive nails with. Many of us know the routine. One thing was great...

For only $15 at the thrift store

Using the oil filled fry pan The only thing I noticed was it took a slightly longer to heat up. Other than that I did not see any difference. Really steady temperature and great heat distribution. Harry

Oil Filled Apparently it used oil to evenly distribute the heat. It does work well and has far fewer 'hot spots' than the other fry pans that I have. Harry
