Whirlpool Imperial Seventy washer needs a new pump?

Pump---- I think that model will use the 2 port water pump as it has the "magic clean filter", part # 350365. Ebay has several for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Washer-Pump-2-Hose-Belt-Drive-for-Whirlpool-Sear-350365-/130953386551?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7d6e1a37

    Maytag A208 timer motor.

If you can't find the 240 volt motor, you could use the 120 volt motor, part # 2205033, along with a ballast resistor to limit the current flow. Whirlpool does this in many dryers where a 120 volt timer motor is in the 240 volt heater circuit. The resistor WP uses is part # 279872

    Whirlpool Duet washer

To connect the extra pump, I drilled a hole in the side of the pump protector housing and epoxyed in a 3/4" PVC tube. What would we do without J-B Weld epoxy! If you look at the pump protector screen you can see it was made to have a second pump, but no outlet was provided in the housing. Where...

Power in supplied thru the door lock switch, when the door is locked the switch is closed. This is the main power supply to all washer parts as well as my added pump. So far I have not had any overheating problems with the pump motor. It's a 30 watt motor, and it's duty cycle is rated 15 min...

    KD-10 Need Help!

The valve shown in Stevet's link does not come with the inlet fittings. It is made to replace newer style valves and you must use parts from the failed valve to make this valve complete.

    Whirlpool Duet washer

Good thinking - - - henene4 and Robert, You went thru the same problems I did in making this work. My solution is to connect the pump to the door lock switch so it can only pump when the washer is locked and running. Then connected a relay to the drain pump circuit that stops the...
