A vintage Westinghouse Roaster is now in da house!

Optional clock--- Now you need to find the clock that fits in the cabinet door where that filler plate is. They also had some Pyrex dishes made to fit inside, they have the Westinghouse "W" stamped in the bottom. I still see them in thrift stores sometimes. Your roaster looks to be in great...

Ice cream makers (household) with own refrigerant system

Lactose intolerant---- I have found that canned coconut milk, like used to make Pina Coladas, has enough fat in it that it will freeze up just like cream. I have made a very simple frozen "ice cream" using only a can of coconut milk and a can of pineapple, blended until smooth then frozen. Add...

    GE belt numbers

Dryer belts The WE12X36 is a 3 rib belt for the older standard size dryer. The WE12X10014 is a 4 rib belt for the newer standard size dryer. Both are the same length. Don't remember when they changed from 3 to 4 ribs.

    Is my Kenmore worth saving

Burnt motor? Have you checked the motor? Most calls I get on a "burnt motor" are not the motor, but a burnt belt. When the belt wears it gets loose and starts to slip, causing enough friction at the motor pulley to cause some smoke and end with a broken belt.

    Kitchenaid dishwashers...

photos in reply #9 are of my Hobart that I modified for home use. I removed the overflow drain port in the right rear corner and replaced it with a blower from a 19 series KitchenAid. I installed a float switch in the left front corner for overflow protection. It's installed in my kitchen and...

Maytag dryer --burnt wire and replacing spring washers

Those spring washers should be removed. I have repaired dryers where the hardened steel spring washers cut thru the metal of the bulkhead, causing the roller and shaft to fall off. Maytag stoped using the spring washers a log time ago, and sends flat plastic washers with the new rollers.

Laurel Hotels WOW, Kevin, didn't know that, and thanks for letting us know. Laurel is 10 miles , more or less, north of Beltsville and another part of the universe. Motels there mostly serve the local horse track and truckers from the terminal, so prices are cheaper and you get what you pay...
