I think I'm going to finally buy a front loading washer and I have many questions

I have a WM3770, about 5 or 6 years old. It seems similar to the current WM4 series. I love it. My first FL. I was skeptical at first, but it's been great. I used Turbowash and would theorize it might help with rinsing. The "bulky" cycle uses more water than other cycles, but it defaults to...

    Front Panel for Recent Maytag

I have a Maytag MDB8959SKZ. Controls on top, 3 rack, stainless front. I'm quite happy with it and got a fantastic price from Costco about 2 years or so ago. (Love my Maytag gas range too) Subsequently I'm contemplating a kitchen remodel. Maytag customer service, via their website, after 1 month...

    New Dishwasher ordered

@mark_wpduet After several washes now, I would note that the only time I got sub-par wash results was once when I tried the Auto setting. Otherwise, I use Normal, and I think I used Quick once for a light load. This thing is definitely the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. The steel front is...

    New Dishwasher ordered

Hello all. I wanted to update that I purchased the Maytag MDB8959SKZ 3-rack stainless tub with top controls. Overall it has performed great and I like the loading flexibility. Also, the price I got it for ($599 via Costco) seems exceptional. I think the MSRP is like 999, and I never saw a sale...

    New Dishwasher ordered

Thanks for the comment. I really do like the GE bottle washers, but there also seems to be an availability problem with GE. Another annoyance is Lowe's has them on sale for a great price, but they're "not in stock", and they won't let you backorder them. The come back in stock after the sale...

    New Dishwasher ordered

I'm in the market Hello, longtime subscriber but haven't been on in awhile. I'm looking for something "mid-range" dishwasher somewhere between $700 and $900. I know about the Bosch 300 series, and Maytag MDB4949SKZ has been on my list for a long time. I like the simple looks of it, price, and...

Switched from AT&T back to AT&T via Cricket Wireless

I've had Cricket for a couple years now and no issues or complaints. Have done BYOP with a Motorola and now a Sony. Will never go back to a contract again.

    Another Scam

Unfortunately senior citizens fall for this all the time. My mom got compromised last year by a Windows virus scammer. She gave them the credit card # to buy the anti-virus protection, etc. Last month she got a call and told me her computer had the ransomware virus that was in the news. She...

    New LG Washer!

Nice to find this thread. I'm considering a 3670 and companion gas dryer, stacked, in graphite steel color. It will be in my kitchen so it has to look good. A few people I know who have had LG washers have been happy.

    mid-price ($500) dishwasher plus 30" fridge question

Occasional lurker and infrequent poster. Buying condo which will need select appliance upgrades. Whats a decent stainless steel front dishwasher for about $500 bucks these days? Front controls preferred. About 4 or 5 years ago I put a Maytag in my former house, and was pleased with it (but it...

But I LIKE the "gearless" shifting of a CVT.

My parents have a 13 Outback with a CVT and I don't care for it. It feels like its slipping and the engine revs up and down too much. Combine with the Sub engine, which isn't that pleasant sounding anyway. The car is not my cup of tea, but on the other hand I can understand why they are popular.

Anyone Have A GPS System They Love?

Nexus 4 and Google Maps Using a LG/Google Nexus 4 with Google maps for the past year. Have a good mount on my dash that allows me to safely use/see it. Works great.

    Cell Phone provider.......

I had a Tracfone for about 16 months and experience was very positive. Depending where you live, it may be tied to one of the major networks. There are ways to "cheat" the system. Howardforums.com is a good resource. Mine was on ATT network. I converted my mom to one. It is on the Verizon...

    New GE Dishwasher Line

I like the bottle wash idea. A bottle with a narrow opening is going to get missed otherwise. This is a good feature that I bet a lot of people will appreciate, what with baby bottles and the popularity of refillable water bottles, etc. Good idea lets hope it works out.

    PAV5157AWW

I miss mine I have to admit, I had an earlier PAV but with a similar feature set. Miss the true "speed" combinations. You can get a slow agitation and slow spin, slow/fast, fast/fast, or whatever. And the extra rinse button was very handy. Nice wide big basket. True it only lasted 10 years...

Is there a twenty year fridge on the market?

+1 Neptunebob, re: True You do not want a commercial unit in your house. They are noisy as hell, and not very airtight either. Worst of all, they suck up a lot of power, and produce a LOT of heat, so you'll have to run A/C constantly to overcome it. I worked in a retail food establishment with...

6 Unconventional Uses for your Dishwasher

any thing that fits inside it... I've used a dishwasher to clean: - computer keyboards (yes!) - car floormats - car wheel covers - misc. parts: air conditioner filters/grills, dehumdifier, vacuum etc. Naturally for some things you need to be prudent in your use of soap or heat, so select...

We Are Pulling The Plug......Finally ATSC Box

Get a DVR with a Digital Tuner Go to Walmart.com and look for Magnavox DVR/DVD units with Tuners. This solves your tuner box problem, and allows you to record programs from "off-the-air", as well as pause live programs, play DVDs, as well as record and edit DVDs. The program recording is like...

Looking for a good used top load machine, advice?

youtube If you think you might want to do your own repairs, there are a lot of videos on youtube. That would also be a good resource to check out "fan" videos to help you ID DD machines. I have an "Admirpool" DD machine from Home Depot circa two or 3 years ago.
