Hotpoint - Lady Executive Washing Machine

Me too! This (or a similar model) would be my dream machine! It's been a looong time since I've seen anything like that around here

    I did it again!

I recently bought my first Filter Queen--a Princess III. I love it. The only thing wrong is that it doesn't say Filter Queen anywhere!! There's a model 33 in a thrift store nearby that I'm considering. Hope it's still there. I really like the cord rewind and the Filter Queen logo on that model.

    Admiral (Norge-Tag) question

A friend called me over today to see why her 4 or 5 yr old noreg-tag won't agitate. Upon checking it out, it sounds like it's washing rocks! It will agitate, though not too smoothly, for a little bit, then comes to a grinding halt. The rock crushing sound seems to come from the transmission...

    Favorite Console

I'm a little slow in replying, but man I'm loving this thread. My favorite (besides the Frigidaire clamshells) would have to be the Hotpoint sillouhettes.

    oldest central air conditioner

Thanks for the tips. We've lived in the house since '83. The unit did a superb job of keeping us comfortable until we added a family room and master suite a few years ago. We knew then that the ac would not be adequate but just kept thinking it would die and we would get the appropriate size...

    oldest central air conditioner

My 1950's rancher is cooled by a 1977 Sears central AC unit. The thing still runs great but as others have said, it's undersized for the house. All rooms are comfortable during the night when the unit cycles on-off as it should. From 10 Am until 2 or 3 AM it never stops and it can't keep up...

    Victorian House Relocation/Restoration

Absolutely stunning! That's something I've always wanted to do but have never had the chance. Good work!

    Finally.

That's what (my) dreams are made of! Congrats. Nothing like that to be found around here.

    Maytag LAT 8504 question

I like this washer but I can't get it to stop leaking. I replaced the stem, boot seal according to your directions posted here, worked great for several loads, started leaking again. Replaced stem and seal again(using new parts), being very meticulous to follow your directions. Washer leaks...

    I want a Duo-Load Dammit!

That is my dream washer, too. My sister had a middle of the line Hotpoint in the late 60's. She used it until about '76 or '77. I'm not sure what went wrong with it.

    DD whirlpool question

Thanks for the fast reply. Yes, there are metal shavings aroung the top of the drive block. I may have another one here, will have to check and see. If not, I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer. I don't have a picture but will try to get one soon.

    DD whirlpool question

I recently picked up a Whirlpool LSQ9549LW2 for $25.00. It needed the usual motor coupling and spin was very sluggish. I replaced the clutch, spin is up to par now, but there's a swish swish swish sound during spin. I removed the wash basket, found that it has cut a shallow groove into the...

    10 years of appliance fun!

Thanks for getting/keeping this site up and going. Though I seldom post, I read the posts and drool over the pic of the day every day. If, for some reason, I miss a day, I feel lost. Again, thanks!

    Amanatag dryers

I'm aware of the disasters of Amanatag washers, what about the dryers? Are they rubbish as well? I'm kinda regretting that I let a nice one slip by recently!

Speed Queen washer AWN311 water level

I have the AWS45NW that I was fortunate to find second hand a few years ago. Love that washer! It sits patiently in my workshop waiting for the day my wife's plastic GE finally breaks. She loves the GE, I don't! Any ideas on how I can sabotage it? I do run the Speed Queen about once a month...

    Maytag LAT series bearing replacement

Thanks to help and advice from many of you, I've replaced the boot stem/seal on 2 of these washers and now have the third waiting to be done. I've replaced spin bearings on each of the ones I've finished (roaring like a freight train!) Problem is, these bearings are a real pain to remove. Any...

    Hotoint POD

Beautiful machine. My sister had one very similar years ago, I was always impressed with it. Wish I could find one now! I have a similar model dryer that needs a mate. Are there any of these washers still running out there? As others have stated, I like the new PODs.
