    the gray splash shield tells you its an Amana version, way before the Alliance requisition.... there were some good models that lasted, but most were prone to seal failure, which was corrected when Alliance took over...

    well it would be a bit easier to diagnose where on the cover that piece snapped away from.... it doesn't appear to be a critical section, but I wanted to see where to the sealing area is affected.... I will check my parts areas if I happen to have one, just in case....
