    Exploding Whirlpool Washer in MN.

Buy her a new washer that could easily do the same thing again? She should sue to the max. Someone will die from one of these monstrosities. Just wait.

    Nice Items on Craigslist

Some of these things are really nice. Especially the bathroom sink, vanity and medicine cabinet, all though it would take quite a bit of work to remove them. https://springfield.craigslist.org/search/sss?userid=133071726

Legends of Dishwashing: The Maytag Reverse Rack

Kevin, Buy more spoons or whatever it is you are running out of before you have a full load. If you're particular about having matching flatware, check on ebay for your brand and pattern. B.

    My New 1954 Bendix Duomatic

Richard, Maybe if the parts aren't available someone would be kind enough to have the parts reproduced for you. A precision machine shop could probably do it. They would have to be made aware of how rare and important the donor part is. Kevin - That machine is really beautiful. It's easy to...

    Sharp Hole-less washing machine

Kevin, I looked back through my old threads and as best I can tell I've made 9 negative comments on new machines, 3 good comments, and 1 general comment. One of the negative comments was about my sister's LG machine that had some kind of an issue several years ago. I looked around the door boot...

    Sharp Hole-less washing machine

That's because they don't want to talk to anyone, write any letters or know where their shit product is made. See how it washes? Swirling clothes around in a little bit of water. They actually admitted that putrefaction will be building up on the outer tub. More stinking, rotting old awful! And...

Digital KitchenAid in the Quad Cities

Those are so cool. I'm afraid of the electronic control. Do they always go out? Some must have survived or there wouldn't be any left. I wonder if your w/h is set higher is their life expectancy shorter? Maybe they've had it two years and it quit working?

    Good DW to have?

Rack condition is important. Rusty racks aren't fun to deal with. If your w/h is set high the no heat dry won't be too much of a problem. Mine has heated dry and I still crack the door open and turn a fan on it overnight for completely dry dishes.

How gentle are Maytag Halo Of Heat dryers on the clothes?

Greetings to Sean, John and all others checking in. Sean, in answer to your question and out of no disrespect to John's extensive experience, I will say that out of all the dryers I have used (Sears,Norge, Whirlpool, GE, vintage Speed Queen and others I can't remember) the Maytag HOH electric is...

Is it possible to replace a moister sensor with a dryer thermostat?

I haven't been commenting on here lately. What John said, plus I agree that cleaning your duct work would really not make all that much difference in drying accuracy. It would probably just slow everything down a lot. It's always good to keep your duct work clean and as short as possible. Few...

    Strange Percolator Sounds

I can't find any You tube videos of the Jet-O-Matic in action.

    Strange Percolator Sounds

The Society one sounds like it's moaning. I think that's what made me laugh. I'll check out the Jet-O-Matic. Anyone else on funny sounds and good designs?

    Strange Percolator Sounds

Has anyone had any actual experience with this brand and model of percolator? I've never heard of a Society percolator. I wonder if all Society percolators make this sound or just this model? I would buy one just for this sound. When I heard it I started laughing immediately. There are other...

Matching GE stove, washer, dryer $400 (Moline, IL)

That's excellent, Cory. I'm headed up there next week but I don't have anywhere to put those gems right now. I hope you get them. They're too nice to be destroyed. That stove is a work of art and the others aren't slouches by any stretch, either. Dave - I would imagine you would get it by...

Matching GE stove, washer, dryer $400 (Moline, IL)

In the Facebook link they look like that toast color. Did GE make that color? They look low mileage. The stove has that self cleaning latch. Would that make it a P7? What years did they make those?

    Old cars vs New cars

Panthera I thought you were going to say the most important control in the car was the cigarette lighter and ashtray. As far as cars go, I think older cars were cool and stylish and new cars are safer and boring. I believe there are too many distractions in new cars. The radio alone is...

    Generac Standby Generator

Apparently the Onan Generator would be the type of generator that would be up the average AW.org members alley. Vintage and made in USA. Something new (or old) to look into.

    Maytag RR Dishwasher problems

My cousin from Wisconsin just sent me a text. Her RR dishwasher is acting up. She says it needs a pump housing, part #901459, or the bearing and shaft assembly, if the complete housing is unavailable, part #900896. The belt is showing signs of wear, part #6-9021150. She wants to know if I have...
