    Prime Days Are Coming! 12 & 13 July 2022

As an example..... I've found I can buy a 146 load bottle of Persil Pro Clean on Ebay cheaper than I can locally. It always comes from a Sams in Indiana even though its usually different sellers. Free shipping each time.

    Prime Days Are Coming! 12 & 13 July 2022

Amazon versus Ebay I've bought quite a bit on both. At first Amazon was the better deal with Prime. At least 75% of the time I find Im buying it off Ebay now to save money over Amazon.

    Maytag 906 set

Check each push on connector on the timer and make sure its a clean snug fit. If all the connectors are clean and tight I think it may have a burnt set of contacts inside. My A407 did that same thing, 20 seconds after starting its rinse spin the motor would shut off but the pilot light was still...

    Local Sears Hometown store closing.

We lost our Sears store in 1994, it opened in 1954 and I think was the first satellite store outside Illinois.

Kingston timer housing repair - suggestions?

Clean that surface really well with a stainless brush and some elect contact cleaner then apply some mil spec type of JB Weld and let it sit a few days. Then drill and tap the hole. You could slide a snug fitting piece of heat shrink tubing over it and cut it flush to get the basic shape of the...

    1975 Maytag A407 Kingston 2-04889-2 Timer Problem

I have a brand new in the OEM Maytag box a Kingston timer for an A407. The box says 204889 but I can faintly make out 204889-2 on the timer. I bought it for my 1974 A407 but that uses a Mallory timer which Ive since found a replacement. If interested its $50.00 plus shipping.

Time to Break-up with the Gas stove.

Fire suppression..... I think all kitchens should have an ABC fire extinguisher handy. And not some tiny Walmart one made in Shanghai. You dont have to have a gas stove to have a fire. Careless people not paying attention to their cooking and starting a fire no matter what the stove runs on...

Is Natural Gas so great now that the prices of TRIPLED?

Reply #8 What did they attribute that insane increase too? Thats a huge amount of money for NG back then. Here in over priced CT it was very cheap at that time.

Time to Break-up with the Gas stove.

Deadly gas stoves My whole family has cooked on gas stoves forever. My great grandparents lived into their early 80's, grandparents into THEIR early 80's as well, Dad till 92, and Mom is gonna be 92 on the 28th. They cant be too bad for you. I'd worry more about second hand smoke from people...

Is Natural Gas so great now that the prices of TRIPLED?

Sis just had her 275 gallon tank filled last week at $5.07 a gallon. It was $1394.25. SCREW THAT. Her boiler runs all year because it heats their hot water year round. My gas bill in Winter is $140.00 a month with forced hot air and around $45-$50 when the furnace isnt running. It would cost me...

Is Natural Gas so great now that the prices of TRIPLED?

Here in the Northeast most homes used to heat by oil and that has gradually changed the last 30 years with lots of people switching to natural gas when they replace their furnace/boiler. So demand is much higher here now. Home heating oil prices here at times are just too unstable as we are...

Maytag Model A210 replacement tub needed

I'll echo what gsd-dan said. Pull that front cover and inspect. I recently had to scrap an A806 that was given to me that was in a damp basement near a shower stall all its life. It didnt look too bad outside but once I removed the cover it was filled with rust scale and corrosion everywhere...

1930's Grunow fridge with Carrene refrigerant...

I gotta disagree with that article. I think first place should go to the 1935 and later Monitor Tops that used Sulpher Dioxide. By 1935 GE had perfected the system for ultra long life and reliability. The Methyl Formate models suffered from build up of non condensible gasses that had to be bled...

1966-80 Maytag Center-Dials: do they look more 60s or 70s?

Metal knob, plastic knob, white dial, metal dial, blue trim, gold trim, Kingston timer, Mallory timer, who cares as long as its got that Pitman job in it, put the pedal to the metal! LOL

Update on Maytag A112 saga, also feeling a bit reflective

The time is NOW To start looking for an older machine. They are still getting scrapped and tossed daily so the supply slowly is drying up. You'll want a very clean low mileage one for sure you can use many years with little to no issues. Thats gonna be hard to find unless you go 90's machine...

Something I read on the internet that's disgusting

Having been stuck in a check out line at the store many times behind people that smell like anything from under arm B.O., lingering fart fumes, either alcohol or cigarette abuse or both sweating through their pores, to raw unkempt ass I can see how there are some people out there that not only...
