Well I am planning on visiting Greg in the near future and will pick up the pump and bracket.  Soon the old gal will be working like new again.  She really is in good shape.  The spots are dust and dirt and she will clean up beautifully.

The Mystery Of The Missing Speed Queen Wringer Pump Bracket

I Talked To Greg About finding a replacement bracket to get this machine ready to sell.  I have a number of vacuums that need to go and thought I would deal with this in the next few months.  While I was posting some vacuums this morning on Ebay, I got an email from Greg with the Subject Line...

The Mystery Of The Missing Speed Queen Wringer Pump Bracket

This Has Driven Me Crazy For a number of years.  I can't believe that I couldn't find the mounting bracket.  I know I wouldn't have thrown it away.  Anyway, I moved the Queen aside and covered her up thinking that I would deal with this later.  Well, I am in a major purge of the basement right...

When/What was the first KA front load portable dw?

Nope They had portable conversion kits going back to the 11 series in 1956.  I know I have a brochure somewhere, just can't put my hands on it.  Here is a price list from 1956.  The KD-26.  Check out the asterisk at the bottom of the price list.

    Back in Service!

Jon Perhaps this will get Greg inspired to get his beautiful Bendix back working again.  Of course, the webmaster is not particularly fond of Bendix machines.  Not sure why, but they are fabulous!

Start An Exciting New Career - Become A Toll Telephone Operator

Now For Some Fun Here is Lily Tomlin (Ernestine) at  her Western Electric 555 switchboard, terrorizing the subscribers.  Not too much different from my 556a except that mine had a whole lot of crossbar switching backing it up.  I worked at an independent phone company as as operator at the same...

Have Some Phones To go with that board.  A rose-colored 302.  Hooks right into the 556a and still works.  Have touch-tone phones hooked up as well as dial phone.  Amazing that they still work on copper wires to the central office. How much longer?  Plug the station line into the trunk line and...

Start An Exciting New Career - Become A Toll Telephone Operator

I Just Had To Have A Switchboard At home.  Here is a Western Electric 556a with manual circuits.  This is a PBX which would have been in a private office setting, but close enough.  Works like a charm.  Taught Terry how to use is although he is a bit slouchy and not watching those lights.  Also...

Start An Exciting New Career - Become A Toll Telephone Operator

I Worked My Way Through high school and college at the phone company as a toll office operator.  I loved that job and would do it again in a flash.  Of course I have a bit of OCD.  Here is a copy of a newspaper article about me as the first male telephone operator in DeKalb, IL.  Home of...

    Amazing Kitchen Aide Portable

And A Money Shot It's in good condition.  The pressure switch was bad and it leaked, but good ole Greg Nunn came to the rescue and repaired it.  Makes me want to drag it in and use it again.

    Amazing Kitchen Aide Portable

Here's My KD-5 And our good friend Terry L looking over it running.  He loved this machine.  Still have it but it resides in the garage right now.  It is the Electra.  No cycle selector buttons.  A bit loud, but cleans like the dickens.  Has the 4-way hydrosweep.
